Stellaboz
Without wanting to give away too much, yesterday our company raised a 5 figure sum to go towards aid for those affected by this shit. Today we were the target of a cyber attack. I'm no tech expert in the slightest but apparently it was from Russia and they didn't even bother to try and mask the fact.

Well congratulations, your unthinking generosity has just sparked WW3. Good luck everyone.

You’re covering your tracks well here with that story. What you spending it on?

jagfox
Quote More than 7,000 Russian troops have been killed since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, according to Ukraine’s presidential adviser. Oleksiy Arestovich, a military adviser to president Volodymyr Zelenskiy, said in a television briefing that hundreds of Russian servicemen have been taken prisoner, including senior officers. He said a Russian army commander was taken to Belarus after being severely wounded. Not a million miles form the figures confirmed by the Russian Army earlier today.

Probably but the widespread belief that the Ukranian Ministry of Defence can count Russian fatalities faster than the NHS can count Covid deaths will no doubt continue.

It will be interesting to see if it’s some kind of double bluff to keep a good image here (and not be sanctioned) or if he ends up poisoned on his yacht.
ICTChris
Interesting and hopeful reports about further talks. As always the devil is in the detail - there are some weapons that can never be deployed in Ukraine: if that is nuclear weapons then it’s probably something that can be agreed quickly. If it is anything above an AK47 probably not. The report someone quoted earlier about the large column being attacked, it’s dozens of miles long in a war zone, I’d be surprised if it wasn’t being attacked at some point. In media news, I just had a news alert on my phone “Ukraine and house prices”, truly showing the conflict has broken through as an issue.

Hauzen
Missiles apparently fired at Kyiv train station, think they have hit the streets outside near an Ibis hotel rather than directly, reports still coming out of the impact of this but the station has been rammed with folk queuing for trains..
ICTChris
It must be a strange sensation being one of the billionaire oligarchs. You can basically live a fantasy life, anything money can buy is yours. There was a superyacht docked in Leith the other week that had its own submarine and a special compartment to fit a Rolls Royce in it. Abramovichs yacht has an anti missile defence system. But underneath it all, they are slaves. They can’t trust anyone around them, they employ everyone around them - what if someone pays them more and you end up dead? What if the man you owe allegiance to doesn’t like a decision? Will you be upbraided? Will you be humiliated? Will you think you’ve got away with it until a poor lad from the Caucasus walks up behind you and pulls the trigger?

Aye, but look at the toys you get to play with in the meantime, even if the places you want to go are too small to dock in. This is owned by Alexei Mordashov, supposedly the richest man in Russia.
