Russian invasion of Ukraine

Several reports that Wagner have taken the city of Rostov. A helicopter appears to have crashed in the area, with reports that it was shot down.

Also that Rostov is one of the main logistical hubs for Russian forces, so Wagner will have potentially gained access to a frightening amount of additional military equipment.  They’ll now control the main supply lines into Ukraine from the east.

Reports and videos surfacing online of fighting around Voronezh, which is half way to Moscow.

We could literally be witnessing the start of civil war in Russia.

It would appear Lukashenko’s private jet took off late last night from Minsk. A quick stop off in Moscow, before landing in Turkey. Bizarre movements in the middle of the night from one of Putin’s top allies.

Couple of possibilities…

-Loaned to high level figures bailing out to one of the few places available.

-Transfer of high value goods.

-Lukashenko going to Turkey for better medical care…but leaves the Moscow stop question.

Letting a highly-trained mercernary group and their mad ex-con commander do what they want for 18 months was definitely never going to end this way.

Getting them to waste their resources fighting in Bakhmut might be a masterstroke though.

Wagner seem to be having better luck at taking towns in Russia than Ukraine.

There doesn't seem to be much fighting so far. How does Prigozhin just waltz  through the heavily populated Donbas and into Rostov and send a column up to Voronezh if he doesn't have at least tacit support from a significant portion of the regular Russian military under Shoigu's chain of command?

Why are so many Wagner troops willing to follow this nutter's orders even though a leading general was on Russian TV urging them to arrest him? The obvious parallel is maybe with 1917 when Russia's armed forces no longer wanted to fight WWI.

Putin speaking now. Says the action is treason and the perpetrators will be punished. Calls Wagner heroes for fighting in Soledad and Bakhmut. Compares it to the end of the First World War.

Putin isn’t for backing down. This is going to get ugly. Having said that, who is going to fight for Putin?

There are numerous reports and examples of MoD units refusing to fight Wagner. The response of the FSB, GRU and other internal troops will determine what happens.
