The only slight anomaly which will hopefully be resolved soon is the NCL. Except Sunday Amateurs and Welfare. Give Pather and Hillside entry to the Scottish Cup, along with Invergordon, and that would give 128 teams. I'm sure if they let the Amateur Cup winners in, it wouldn't be too hard to let Sundays and Welfare champions play also. Highland Amateur teams also rarely enter the Scottish Amateur Cup (the Highland Amateur Cup has more prestige, and is more in line with their summer playing season). Only 7 entrants in the last 15 years, and none since 2015-16.
parsforlife
Welfare maybe a shout but really another needless historical split that needs sorted. Sunday or summer playing teams not really, they have made that step for recreational purposes and involvement in the national competition doesn't really add up. On the whole tho, We should be trying our very best to have a national cup with as many teams possible entering every season without needing to qualify.

That gives a potential route of qualification for the teams from the islands, who don't really have one at the moment.

They do as they are entitled to play in the SAC even if they generally choose not to due to the summer season. Not sure you could include the HAC and not one of the other regional amateur cups. Would be fun though.
FairWeatherFan
What was the prize money breakdown for last season's Cup? Since it's likely to be similar this season.
Ranaldo Bairn
When's the SFA AGM? They normally release SC details after that, don't they? It's normally about now.

AGM is tomorrow. The actual format shouldn't need to be changed. More likely to get the Scottish Cup dates from the LL fixtures PDF released on Monday, though we can work out some dates from the SPFL fixtures: Second Round 22 October Third Round 26 November Fourth Round 21 January Fifth Round 11 February QF 11 March

mrman2011
Have all leagues/Associations has gateways to the Scottish Cup & this should include Welfare/Highland Amateur & NCL
Ginaro
Same as last year, it looks like the first round is going to be 17 September as the Midlands League fixtures have given a free week to Lochee and Carnoustie/Tayport are playing each other. Assuming the preliminary round will also be on 27 August as no fixtures are scheduled then. 21 hours ago, mrman2011 said: this should include Welfare/Highland Amateur & NCL NCL yes as it's a winter league, probably not the rest as those are summer leagues.

FairWeatherFan
Just now, Marten said: No idea, maybe they are trying to fill the preliminary round? Says NCL & 3 others. Maybe the semi finalists & runners up of Amateur Cup? Since that was the approach with the old qualifying cups.

There were four teams added at amateur level, the North Caley and three others as well." Could just be referring to the four qualifiers this year - NCL, Midlands, Amateur Cup, E/S/W cup winners - and the NCL president is clueless about the terminology? I think we would've heard if more clubs were being included.

Considering how the NCL probably regard themselves.
zenon
Would like to see the regional amateur cup winners come in at some point so for example this season you would have Shortlees (West and Ayrshire), Kincorth (North), Fallin (East), Fintry Athletic (North of Tay), Lesmahagow AFC (South) and Cupar Hearts (Fife) added to the mix.
