Darvel FC Thread

Recommended Posts

Not knowing a damn thing about the players Darvel have had in that are now leaving; they didn't achieve what they were brought in for.

Again not knowing anything about the new recruits. If they are good enough to sustain the club in the West Premier; for a club of Darvel's size and where they were a few seasons before Lockdown and forgetting about the pieman's money; that should be viewed as a success.

Eadie also away

I see Darvel got a record transfer fee for him so between all the players going to EK for very decent transfer fees and their Scottish Cup run they may have at least broke even over 2022-2023 season?

This club will never shake off the circus they have become or the bad mounting individual fans did during the not so glory years.

The big top, circus master, a few clowns and a couple of animals have camped up in EK now.

Sad to see a few of the players go that's football gives us a chance now to reset and let the haters hate

Not sure there'll be any haters next season? Darvel won't be challenging for silverware.

Best that can happen probably is that they firmly establish themselves as a solid premier league club and build a bit of respect.

I'm going to do my best to keep the fires of hatred burning mate. It might be harder than usual but I am up for the challenge.

I actually see it the other way and see them as a very dangerous opponent in terms of them signing guys who have played ' junior ' most of their careers and understand  that  the crunch/battle is needed at times before the pretty  football is played.

Most of the ex seniors they've bought in recent years were maybe a bit in the prima donna / pretty football category , the guys they're bringing in under mcnally will get what it's all about and will get stuck right In from the first whistle and might have a more aggressive style of play  / a plan b which Is sometimes needed at our level.

Now a retirement home for past it players wanting a big payday , for a washed up hated manager , a deluded old fool , even the blowhard superfan who bad mouthed most of the old junior football wants nothing to do with them now . as for the laughable parody MK offski 🤣

I tend to agree bud, buying too many seniors never works , just as adding too many top under 20s as it's a unique game. You need experience at this level who can not only play but knowwhen to knuckle down and mix it when required.
Darvel are being written off already by many now Kennedy has gone but like him or loath him , McInally has good knowledge at this level and I think he's signed wisely.

Mcinally isn't everyone's cup of tea but he's a wily fox who knows our grade of football very well and a Scottish cup final win in 2012 with SBA v Talbot and a Scottish cup final defeat on penalties with Pollock against beith in 2016 tells you he knows where the big prizes are .
