League Cup was drawn tonight but can't see the details anywhere.

Been posted on our thread that Cowden are away to Berwick, but there appears to be no details yet of the draw anywhere, top secret it seems.

Spartans may withdraw from the competition if they are champions and enter the playoffs, so could turn into a bye to the second round.

Good news in that we'd get through to the next round. Bad news in that we miss out on a home cup tie.

I don’t think they should be allowed to withdraw. As John says the BUs would miss out on a badly needed home gate.Surely Spartans should be able to field a team of some description .

You have to appreciate their position that they (or whoever it turns out to be) have to be focused on only the play off.

As far as the gate goes, surely it will be split as it’s a cup tie, so maybe not a massive money spinner? And Spartans are not exactly renowned for a huge travelling support…

Spartans very much in the driving seat for the league title after last night's games:

The league table makes this season all the more frustrating given teams we’ve beaten sitting above us.

Best of luck to Spartans. Anyone but Rangers or Celtic.

Lack of consistency. Of course no one to put the ball in the net on a regular basis.

Funny season, we’ve won as many as we’ve lost, but it really doesn’t seem that way. Nobody in the team who gets me excited when he gets on the ball in or near the box. Just expect them to look for someone to pass to.

Fair points.I always think though that teams withdrawing from competitions for whatever reason is a bad look and a bit “unprofessional “ for want of a better phrase.

There are some tough looking games in the run in for Spartans including away to Celtic B, Tranent and Berwick.

Also for Tranent, as well as us and Spartans at home have EK and Uni of Stirling away and CSS at home

Uni of Stirling have Cally Braves, Rangers B, Hearts B and Gala as well as Tranent.

could be a close finish

Thanks for the information. Seems hugely unfair on the away team who will have the expenses of a normal away match.
