Neutrals going to the sjfa final

It’s not a national competition anymore with no EoSL clubs in it along with a good few West clubs.

A handful of EoSL clubs still have their membership. Proved largely unworkable around the league scheduling though with a few withdrawing from the cup because of it.

Surely time to call an end to this competition. Talbot will only dilute their own legacy by continuing to compete in it. Pure nostalgia now, nothing else.

Still the best paying non-league cup. Until that changes there's no reason for them to withdraw

Must clubs are only hanging about hoping the SJFA is wound up as the cash they’ve built up gets shared amongst its members.

Anyone who watched the final on Alba yesterday would not have known about the diminished status of the competition. A healthy crowd adorned in their club's colours, Tucker raging on the sidelines in the first half, an extremely good half time piece where Gordon Robertson and the good people of Yoker explained how much appearing in the final meant to them and the Talbot fans desperate to get their photo taken with the players and the trophy at the end.

If you don't like it then don't bother with it. @Shanner is right, you're all howling at the moon.

The fact is that it is drastically diminished and anyone who knows football knows it.

Don't know what the emoji for jealous is or I'd place it here.

Jealous of what ?

A crappy non league trophy that represents an association that has no presence in the West of Scotland?

Its from a bygone age and clubs are moving on to play in the Scottish Cup now.Look at the number of clubs that are getting licensed and are improving their facilities since they’ve broken free from the archaic SJFA.

The SJFA held the non league game back for years.Thankfully it’s a corpse now and the Zombie Junior Cup is fooling nobody.

Yet you care enough about it to mash your keyboard on a regular basis, trying to convince everyone how awful it is. Let the clubs who play in it do so if they want. The pyramid is here. Chill out brother.

The competition was won by a Licenced club with probably the best ground in the West.

Enjoyed watching the game on t.v , difficult with the club colours and the glare off the plastic ! Shocking offside decision to not give Yoker a goal, they ran out of steam come the end - especially after the first goal. Maybe one day a non league cup where the amateurs could play preliminary rounds etc ? Yes I know there's an Amateur Cup 🏆

Ball has already been kicked here, looks close to being level but all it takes for the attacker to be offside is a fraction of their body to be behind the defender.

The clubs' individual decisions about SJFA membership should all be respected regardless of which way the choose. My club chose not to renew a couple of years ago, but we respect the differing opinion of other clubs and their continuing passion for the Scottish Junior Cup.

In my opinion the South Challenge Cup is a much harder competition to win, not only because it has nearly twice the number of teams in it, but also the quality of the teams involved. But Auchinleck Talbot have proved that they are up to that task as well.

There is no doubt it is the harder competition to win - but it doesn't generate the same public interest and despite what everyone hopes for, it never will. No amount of saying "give it time" will change this. The Junior Cup interest is fading but it is still there for the time being. It showed at the two finals. What was the attendance yesterday? It looked a lot more than the 899 I heard were at the SCC one a couple of weeks ago. One probably obvious difference is when the cameras panned round both sets of supports is there were whole families present.
