Suspect they know full well that this plan has zero chance of actually happening but given the many issues with what the LL is up to at the moment there's no harm pushing for changes through the PWG.
Killiepiyo
Apologies if this is against the grain but I was surprised to read the proposal post but not surprised to see some folk attack them for well.. being “ambitious”. Weird how that works eh? I’ve no stake in the race but to be fair they do have a serious war chest to make things happen… seem genuine folk so good luck to them. Imo bottle neck needs removed asap
passbackdave
Sounds daft but is there still a west region junior committee even tho theres no west juniors? I thought the 5 times table was confusing till this lolMon the papers
Shanner
Best of luck to them with that but it has hee haw chance of getting off the ground. I don't pay much attention to the politics of this stuff but surely the time to make these proposals was about a decade ago when they actually had a full membership and perhaps a bit of clout when it came to having their voice taken seriously?

Imo bottle neck needs removed asap One part I would disagree with is the genuine folk bit. If they actually cared about the pyramid they would be advocating for the WoSFL and EoSFL stepping up to Tier 5 with the Lowland League clubs being merged into it. Since North/East/West has been the classic go to for reform at non-league level. The creation of a cobbled together Central League under the SJFA, with no real regard for anything else. Shows its just the usual attempt at staying relevant.

Killiepiyo
No even an hour and red dotted by red dot himself Sure if you said the wosfl would be formed as part of a pyramid at one point you’d be called delusional as well. As would those saying the lowland would have guest participation in return was a wad of cash even two year ago. Football is a crazy game and if folk want to submit plans that positive. Doesn’t mean they’ll happen, doesn’t mean they won’t type thing but always healthy to have differing viewpoints.

Not really. Kelty moved to the EoSFL 5 years ago and it was in late 2017 that the Lowland League were floating the idea of a WoSFL. It never went anywhere because of the mass departures to the EoSFL and the SJFA having their questionnaire saying they wanted to join the pyramid. As soon as the PWG meetings started the one bit of common ground was a pyramid league in the West.
Killiepiyo
Personally I was told I was “fu&king high” if I thought there was any chance of the juniors being part of the pyramid
South_Pride
The bottle neck with the Lowland League has to go. But no solution to that involves the SJFA. The whole pyramid needs reformed to be fair, but resistance from the Old Firm over a 16 team league would stop it at the top and Lowland League’s superiority complex stops it in the middle. For the SJFA, surely overtime and once the current tier 6 west league is diluted from ex junior clubs with Drumchapel and St Caodcs coming up and Lowland League clubs coming down then the time for Saturday’s to be put aside for the SJFA has to end?

In a, hopefully, non reduced, covid free, season there will be normal relegation of one club to Tier 6 and a promotion from Tier 6 in return. Maybe, also, a LL club will win promotion to the SPFL2 with a club from there coming down to the LL. There must be a good chance that the bottleneck will be gone anyway in twelve months time. It only takes one or two clubs to change leagues and the balance of power is changed.

With Tranent and Cowdenbeath now there I think the vote was 8v8 on the Colts issue, so one more Tier 6 or SPFL club in exchange for one of the fake clubs should solve the issue.

Even our fixtures secretary carried out the same role in the Juniors, and if I recall correctly wasn't in favour of leaving the juniors initially. And the most successful club at this level didn't even want to move over in the first place. The SJC will still be given Saturday slots mid-season (probably more now that the premier league season has been reduced). Everyone else will just need to work round it.
Killiepiyo
Needs to be solved, if your the current establishment you’ll be doing your best to find a way forward with the bottle neck surely?. Just saying, what happens if west champs can’t win the playoffs for the next number of years? Anyway embracing the described fantasy whats to say in an alternative reality one party walks down the hall, chaps the door and says here’s £100,000 do what you need to do to make lowland equivalent happen… sci fi but stranger things have happened in real life lol.
Burnieman
The bottom line is the SJFA is embarrassing themselves in a desperate attempt to remain relevant. The PWG is to meet to look at the overall pyramid picture after the B team fiasco, and yet we get this utter tripe from the SJFA. A complete distraction. The quicker the members vote to dissolve the association and distribute the funds amongst them the better. We need to move on.

LongTimeLurker
The only utter tripe that's being peddled at the moment is the refusal of the LL to open up the pro/rel bottleneck and the selfish self-serving attempt of clubs like Civil Service Strollers to link that issue to what happens with the Club 42 playoff. There's a massive imbalance between the HL and LL catchments in population terms so having two central belt tier 5 feeders wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing even if the SJFA's proposal is clearly not going to be the way that it comes about.
