Sloop John B
After years raising money for areas affected by deprivation, natural disasters, corrupt authorities, ramshackle infrastructure and an alienation from the outside world it's good to see that Bob is still going out and performing to those in need.

Doonhamer doon south
How much was the status quo concert worth to the club? And was it a sell out?
Guest Flash
Joking aside, it must be quite hard putting something like this together, so hope they get a big crowd and it proves to be a success.
MrDust
Boomtown Rats, Rick Astley, ABC, The Commitments and The RezillosHolly fuk.....are they playing in stadium bar ?Acts who struggle to sell out 4-600 capacity venues to a stadium gig. We had an 80s themed gig at our place nite afore Status Quo and it bombed and leaked cash like a free cash machine, we couldn't give tickets away for it Looks like we are out of the summer gig thing now, probably breaking even overall. Too much competition nowadays with so many varying festivals all over the place, the Eltons and Rod Stewart's worked as I'm sure we took percentages and had hospitality and car park to ourselves but £s to effort, I don't think was great. Hopefully Queens have a separate company to take losses on this and isn't on the heads of the club

Frankie S
Boomtown Rats, Rick Astley, ABC, The Commitments and The Rezillos Actually quite like the sound of that, sounds like a good day out. The Rezillos are a good live band and always give good value. Always liked ABC. The Commitments will be a crowd-pleaser. Not the biggest Rick Astley or Boomtown Rats fan, but it's quite a nice lineup, something to please most tastes. Will probably take the kids. Bit of a gamble in the absence of a big-name headliner, but hope it captures the imagination and does well.
Dougie Mills
Like last year, it's not a lineup that would persuade me to part with £45 but hopefully plenty of others feel differently!
Chupacabra
Rickrolled by the club I support. A dark day. In all fairness I hope it's a success, I won't be there, as like last year, the acts don't appeal to me, but hopefully it can grow to a point where we can get better acts.
Monkey Tennis
I'm definitely more inclined to go to this than I was Last year's event.
the_vortex
What an atrocious lineup . I take it they think everyone in Dumfries is stuck in an 80's time warp ? Can't see there being a mad rush for tickets for this effort
MONKMAN
Can't see this being anywhere near as successful as last year. Terrible line-up.

the_vortex
I quite liked ABC, myself. But would you pay £45 to go and see them ?
Monkey Tennis
But would you pay £45 to go and see them ? I'd be more likely to consider it than I was for last summer's act.
Senior_Coconut
Anybody I've spoken to today (of a certain vintage) seemed keen on it. £45 for 5 plus bands and what 4 ish hours of entertainment doesn't sound too steep to me. It's not a terrible line up. I'm not surprised Vortex isn't keen.
Parkgatequeens
I'm not into music at all, couldn't even name one Bowie song.
Distant Doonhamer
I'm not into music at all, couldn't even name one Bowie song. Have you spent your Life on Mars?
QosLoyal
With raith getting beat tonight, big incentive now for the team to start a consistent run of form to grab that top 4 spot. Hopefully murdoch can give the team much needed energy and drive. Edited January 12, 2016 by QosLoyal
