Passed away at the age of 35. Obviously had a lot of off the field problems over the years, but at his peak he was a terrific player.d9112b146e3a19fc591a7fbad533ea59.jpg

A hugely talented player. Think that's what should be focused on and seems to be so far to be fair.

Condolences to Adam's friends and family 👪

Agree with your point Bill but not sure I agree that it has been focused on so far. Not sure who wrote that obituary posted by the OP but can't understand why it went on about personal problems/demons. Not the time to do so.

Why anyone would include that second paragraph is beyond me.

It was the Official Catchup. In previous situations when Adam Strachan's name has been brought up for Team of the Decade type scenarios. It has usually led to twitter back and forths around the domestic abuse side of things.

They would have been far better writing nothing, claiming they know nothing about the circumstances of his death, then pontificating about the "inner demons" that caused it. And the self serving tripe about posting their take on his death because "It's the right thing to do", despite potential criticism. They're not the Times obituary page, they're a minor podcast and twitter page, silence would have been by far the better option.
