Donathan
This isn’t confirmed is it? I think the September UNL results feed in to it.
forameus
You're right. This'll all be decided after the final group games with everyone ranked by how they finished. I think the list above is what they'd be if no-one switched around, but some of the groups are a bit wild so in two games a lot can change. Table here shows the ranking - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022–23_UEFA_Nations_League#Overall_ranking I assume Germany drop out of that as hosts, so spots 2-11 get Pot 1, 12-21 get Pot 2. So for us, we need to win our group (or potentially finish best 2nd place with the Germany example?). The amusing example is England (and Wales) potentially getting relegated and being consigned to pot 2. They'd still be outrageous favourites to qualify with two spots, and have a backup of a playoff, but it'd be nice to see something other than England dicking on lower seeds for a campaign.
Scary Bear
Israel must have had some set of results to be in Pot 2.
craigkillie
It's done by Nations League ranking, and they got lucky by having Russia in their group who were subsequently banned. They're in a group with Albania and Iceland.

They drew Russia as their top seed in league B, who have of course been booted out and relegated. That leaves them in a group with the mediocre Albania and Iceland who are on a downward swing. They are currently top of the group thanks to a 2-1 win in Albania and a pair of 2-2 draws with Iceland. If they beat Albania at home, they win the group and go into pot 2 and league A.

Donathan
With Russia having been booted, I assume results against the bottom teams will be cancelled for the purpose of determining the 2nd place rankings (best 2nd place will get into pot 2) 2nd place ranking (Games played in brackets( Serbia 3 (2) Iceland 3 (3) Montenegro 1 (2) Scotland 0 (1) Honestly if we get enough points to overcome Iceland and Serbia in this ranking, we will probably win the group, so not worth spending too much time on this.
Zazu
Bet we'll end up winning the nations league group now, then getting Sweden as our third seeds for qualifying

Donathan
It’s a breath of fresh air these days that the seeding is based on objective performance against other European nations and not decided by a completely arbitrary computer ranking that requires a rocket science degree to understand and can be manipulated by scheduling friendlies against Outer Mongolia, the Harlem Globetrotters and a selection of people from Mars.

Easy two points for Scotland from that run of fixtures at the very least IMHO
