funky monkey
Horrific incident, hope the guy recovers and whoever is responsible is apprehended. Got to have some sympathy with the people running Kilbirnie, they must be at the end of their tether. Buffs are at Perthshire in a few weeks time for a cup tie, hopefully there's not retribution towards other Ayrshire clubs because of this incident.

I understand that Kilbirnie have a reputation for trouble but surely no one would travel from Ayrshire with a hammer for a football match? Possibly a local had gone to their house for it, been overpowered and had it used against him.

DellScot
Only have sympathy if person is an innocent bystander if he's actively trying to injure and hurt someone in fighting then shit happens if you set involved in that sort of carry on.

Considering Glasgow Perthshire have about 40 punters on average at a game, most of whom are in the more mature age bracket i doubt anybody has anything to fear from a visit to Keppoch Park. The common denominator in a catalogue of incidents is halfwits that have attached themselves to Kilbirnie FC.

You'd be really popular with them being a 'possil' St Rochs supporter Let's be honest loads of scum in those areas as well who will use football as a vehicle for a fight. -

What a terrible comment to make “loads of scum”, this is an area of unbelievable levels of deprivation with many good people trying their best in the area and it doesn’t need your tuppence worth.

Doubt the so called scum you talk about caused this incident. Interesting terminology from a Queens Park fan btw Edited September 26, 2022 by PossilYM
Lokloyal
I have never ever seen a single bit of trouble in the many many times I have seen Lok play the Shire over many decades home or away. I have seen regular trouble involving Kilbirnie when playing against various clubs Lok included
stumpy
The common denominator in this incident is kilbirnie ladeside, they have a group of supporters who follow them that seem hellbent on causing trouble where ever they go. You can to an extent feel sorry for the guys running the club along with the decent supporters, but these guys all know who the trouble makers are. I'd also be worried that there may be some kind of retribution and someone totally innocent gets hurt.

'loads of scum' .. Not a great perception of the area and the people who live here, I moved here around 7 years ago and have been welcomed into the local community, even receiving a free season ticket for Perthshire because we live in G22. The minority will always grab the headlines, the majority work hard to help these areas prosper.

johnmc80
Went through saracen street on saturday afternoon before the game. There was a load of kilbirnie fans at the cross going between balmore bar and saracen bar. Including the drummer boys who were making sure they made themselfs noticed. First thing i thought is theres no way the day was passing without incident.

Problem the young team have is that they are so loud and colourful and full of it they attract attention from the wrong types in places they visit. The trouble caused by this can be anyone's fault one thing is for sure kilbirnie will have zero choice now but to ban everyone in the group whether guilty or not for life. What a horrible situation for the club to be in but they have no choice to survive as a club. 3 hours ago, DellScot said: Only have sympathy if person is an innocent bystander if he's actively trying to injure and hurt someone in fighting then shit happens if you set involved in that sort of carry on. 2 hours ago, DellScot said: You'd be really popular with them being a 'possil' St Rochs supporter Let's be honest loads of scum in those areas as well who will use football as a vehicle for a fight. 21stcenturyboy
It is really getting to the point were someone is going to loose thier life and it wont be enough to say that we saw this coming As said there is a common denominator here who have no place on the terraces. Sectarian behaviour at St Rochs last year Damage at Petershill Fkn SHOOTING a ref at Darvel Reigning bottles onto pitch v St Rochs (while under a no fans ban) Riot at the Shire It is not enough to say that the club have done all they can - the league needs to take action before someone is killed The trouble makers should be banned from all football at our level
