St Mirren v Aberdeen 24/12/22 1230 ko

FT 3-1
Great Christmas Eve fun and a lovely three points, as we always expect when Aberdeen come to town.
Very strange game in many ways. Three penalties, two penalty takers, a red card, Aberdeen hitting post and then bar while we hung on desperately against ten men and a then 40 yarder trundling into an open goal thanks to the Aberdeen keeper venturing forward for a corner with five minutes on the clock.  Delightful craziness.
Thought Gallagher was our best player again, thanks for him again Aberdeen. Cracking player and looking at the state of the Dons centre backs I cannot believe you gave us him for nothing.

He plays like Stewart when he's expected to do something with the ball, unfortunately.

3-1 probably the right score on balance shouldn't have taken us til 95mins to get the 3rd goal though.

Yeah, over the piece we were absolutely the better team and worthy winners, but that last 10-15 mins before the 3rd goal didn't need to be that hairy. Couple if players looked absolutely done and maybe lacking match fitness.

Still, great win, think Robinson got it spot on tactically, really brutally targeted the Aberdeen weaknesses and exploited them. I can't believe Aberdeen are paying Dec Gallagher to play for us whilst picking those absolute donkeys they have at the back.

Really

You were against ten men for the majority..we controlled the game prior to the red and for the last twenty minutes (including added time).

Yeah, really. If it had been 4 or 5 Aberdeen could have had no complaints. Even in your periods of "control" we missed numerous chances and scored a third goal.

Fair play to St Mirren. Even at 11v11 they are capable of beating Aberdeen. Was surprised by their slow start however they deserved to win.

Frustrating as we looked in complete control up until the sending off. It's the manner in which we collapse at the back. Reoccurring theme.

January window can't come soon enough.

If Aberdeen had scored at the end then there's not a pundit in the land who wouldn't have said the goal was coming. The last twenty five minutes were similar to ours against Rangers without the mental defending that cost goals.

An own goal, a penalty that should have been saved and breakaway goal from a corner. Crazy to get all that luck in a game.

Terrible quality but very entertaining game, 3-1 definitely flattered us though. Think we need one of Erhahon or Gogic in midfield at all times, that middle three was feeble without them although O’Hara did well second half. Ayunga is always excellent or terrible and nothing in between, you’d be as well taking him off at half time when he’s playing like that.

Some baffling decisions from Goodwin including how long it took him to sub a crocked Coulson and letting the keeper go up with 6 or 7 minutes left to play.

Seems to be a recurring theme...

There's not a pundit in the land saying St Mirren didn't fully deserve to win. There was nothing particular lucky about any of the penalties or the red card, all correct, and defending properly and hitting on the break is what your supposed to do when leading.
