grinderbrokeyourhearts
Ah I see. My bad I could have sworn I seen those provisional dates in the event we aren’t in a playoff. Assumed that since we aren’t that they’d be the dates.
HibeeJibee
Haddington Athletic 3-1 Coldstream (aet, FT 1-1) Haddington eventually prevailed in a gritty tie on the Millfield... After an eventful but goalless opening half, the Streamers took the lead spectacularly, near enough firing a Scud missile into Athletic's top righthand corner. However a penalty from a clumsy foul levelled up so an extra 30mins was needed to separate them. Early on another penalty gave the hosts a lead, which they doubled with a curled effort shortly after the break. Both sides missed a few real sitters, and Hi-Hi also struck the bar 1st half. Bo'ness Athletic 4-3 Rosyth Linlithgow Rose 5-0 Newburgh Haddington v Bo'ness Athletic a mouthwatering SF encounter in 7 days.

The Hologram
Dunipace v Penicuik will now be played at the MV Commercial Prestonfield Stadium, Linlithgow on Tuesday 23rd May at 7.30pm due to the mindless vandalism at Dunipace. Could those attending please park in the High School just over the hill from the Social Club as there is a function in the hall as well.
HibeeJibee
Fine gesture from Rose. EOS website confirms the season's curtain fall will be staged amid the well-appointed surroundings of Meggetland. This arena last hosted a major final in May 2019 when East Kilbride edged Bonnyrigg in South Challenge Cup climax. Fitting to return to the capital as the league commences its centenary year celebrations. Edited May 23, 2023 by HibeeJibee

Guest
Lowland League final between Bo'ness and EK was in Berwick. This is nearly West Coast by comparison
HibeeJibee
Haddington Athletic 0-1 Bo'ness Athletic In a sun-kissed evening on the Millfield, that grew steadily cooler and breezier as this tie wore on, a bumper crowd was entertained by an enthralling encounter - as 2 keen and capable teams vied for their shot at cup final glory. Both sides began at a sharp tempo which they sustained for much of the game: visitors applying more pressure, their hosts dominating intensely for shorter spells. Each forced excellent blocks, stops and parries from the keepers; flashed good chances over and wide; the Hi-Hi struck the woodwork; until off a corner with about 15mins left Woodburn... rising near the post like some mighty engorged salmon... attempted to repeat an earlier move stopped for offside. On this occasion the ball spilt near the 6 yard box, where Daramola (who else?) was ready on hand to stab in for his 81st goal of 2022-23. Haddington threw their all into pursuing an equaliser - to no avail. History was made... never before in this nation has a club at so low a level reached a cup final. Well done Bo'ness Athletic.

There was some neat play by Dunipace at times, the sort of thing you see tried on a 4G. The Prestonfield grass pitch is almost like a 4G pitch though so praise to the Rose ground staff and also to the club for lending the ground to Dunipace. I thought there might have been a bigger crowd but it was a venue change at short notice I suppose.

It's the West end of Edinburgh, not 2 regions aways Meggetland is probably easier to get to than most places in West Lothian for any of these teams with the transport links, plus the ground is top notch

Dunipace played well... couple of cracking goals. Penicuik were dreadful at the back, very weak and slow looking. They were very off the pace... and a few too many late challenges saw them down to 10 men in 2nd half One of the Dunipace goals, the lad basically held off two defenders and whacked a shot high past keeper. Another goal, right winger won tackle, out paced a defender, out muscled another, cross to back post missed everyone a d tapped into empty net by striker standing all alone. I'll be generous and say Penicuik were allowing Dunipace through to next round to assist with their fundraising. But Dunipace were, at least on the day, much better.

Only places closer would have been dunipace( gets used on a Sunday for other teams) camelon ground was starting to get ripped up on the Sunday. Ochilview and alloa they'd have to have paid rental for. So unless boness or linlithgow could have hosted It their wasn't much closer and playing a final at one teams home ground is ridiculous.
