scottsdad
Enjoyed the game quite a bit. Enjoyed seeing the eyebrowless Braveheart's dreams going up in smoke even more. The more you see of Darvel, the nastier a bunch they look from top to bottom.

He's utter fucking shite at presenting and comes across awkward and wooden. Is it just because they want to make him the Scottish Gary Lineker? Dreadful stuff. He looks like a fat Brandon Flowers.
Jacksgranda
Really shows up the Dons performance for what it was.
roman_bairn
A few people have mentioned that they are League One level. I doubt that Darvel would beat Peterhead and pretty sure they wouldn’t beat Clyde nine times out of ten. Aberdeen on the other hand….

"Whats next for Darvel, Neil?" "Keep going, build on this, get more sponsorship" I suppose QTS isnt enough then lads......... Does QTS actually just own Ayrshire ?

bobbydazzler
Darvel looked like a bunch of lower league hammer throwers.

Rjc-1988
Must admit that after listening to the Darvel Manager’s cringeworthy, self indulgent pre-match speech I enjoyed seeing them getting pumped. He seems to think that he has really ”arrived” trying to make the whole occasion about him. The reality is, of course, that he is benefitting hugely from the owner’s “deep pockets” and after all Darvel are playing at a level where any decent investment can give a team a huge advantage over their competition. It was a great result against Aberdeen but that rehearsed speech was awful and Falkirk showed the golf in class that Aberdeen somehow were unable to exploit????
NUMBER 7
After the Aberdeen Match, there was no excuses for Falkirk to be unprepared. Having watched the Abereen match I knew Falkirk would make more chances than Aberdeen did, and had pace up front against a pretty slow defence. The first two goals showed how slow they were. Falkirk were right up and focused on winning, that wouldn’t have happened these last four seasons. Darvel were quite neat passing in the midfield, but were only capable of forcing pressure in occasional moments. If they win their league and meet Linlithgow to go into the Lowland League I’d maybe go to see the match at Linlithgow. The pitch is quality for a grass pitch in Scotland this time of year, the visiting area is hopeless unless you are against the barrier or taller than folks on the barrier, those three four back seen nothing.

Understand Ayr races as that is great for entertaining clients but low grade football?

He started believing his own myth a bit and has wound up looking a little foolish. No great harm to the guy - he's obviously enjoyed a moment in the sun. However, he should probably not have played along with doing another stirring address for the cameras. That kind of posturing just looks hollow and contrived, especially if the match goes badly wrong.

Interesting, in that Linlithgow have a very tidy pitch and setup as well, along with a decent team. They didn’t particularly threaten, but they certainly weren’t backing down.

They probably have a payroll similar to some of the higher spending teams in league one, no question about that. They also have a number of players who are manifestly lower league standard - including their iconic striker who is actually hilariously bad. 13 hours ago, Rjc-1988 said: Must admit that after listening to the Darvel Manager’s cringeworthy, self indulgent pre-match speech I enjoyed seeing them getting pumped. He does like his socials and doesn’t seem too bad of a guy, but he’s also clearly coked up to his eyeballs and very keen on the cameras. I guess he knows he’s never going to manage at a higher level, and is letting his ego get ahead of himself. Some of us might do likewise.
