ICTChris
Back of a fag packet calculations but for Caley to win the title We win our final two games (a) Dundee, (h) Ayr. Dundee lose to us, lose to Cove and draw with Queens Park. Queens Park lose to Ayr and Morton then draw with Dundee. Partick drop any points in their remaining three games. It’s pretty unlikely in any circumstances but I can’t see Dundee losing to Cove. The other results, in and of themselves, aren’t huge stretches but Cove beating anyone at the moment seems a bridge too far.

Pretty much every single fan of the top half teams in the league can say exactly the same on both points. an86
If Dundee had a top half team on the second last day, rather than Cove, this would be a wee bit more interesting. On our trajectory, I simply can’t see a way we’re going to Ayr and Morton and winning. We’ve struggled against both, even when in better nick than we currently are. Less interesting surely as we'd now be 4 points clear instead of 1 and looking to win the title on Saturday.

My point is that Cove gives you a bit of breathing space. Beat them, as you almost certainly will, then you’ve got at least one hand on the trophy, regardless of what happens on Friday/Saturday. It would mean someone else having to get to 62 points, which looks odds against. Edited April 19, 2023 by an86
