If County equalise there will be 10 minutes of additional time. Otherwise the game will finish on 90 + 2

In a thread full of diddies you stand head and shoulders above them all.

Aren't all games one offs?

Not for me to defend Ricky foster, but he’s probably been asked a question and given a pretty vanilla, but uncontroversial answer.

The bit about a one off game is used in pretty much all football punditry.

... Maybe Celtics international players will have lost a bit of focus and the referee/var official will not be so quick appease the visitors.

...

Almost called it, the celtic players may have been a bit off-key yesterday, but the officials sure as hell weren't, unfortunately.

Celtic will win the league with ease as long as they keep getting ridiculous penalties like today.

That is so right, out of the 95 goals we’ve scored, 5 have came from penalties and 3 of them have been given by VAR, so take those 3 away, even though they were penalties, and we’d be struggling.

The furore over the penalty yesterday was bizarre. It's almost as if no one had seen VAR in action this season. I don't agree with the new hand ball rule but that is the rule. It's not even as bad as the other one we saw in the reverse fixture imo.

Spot on, you don’t have to like or agree with the current handball law but that doesn’t make it any less of a handball when interpreting the law. It does however need changing

Much like the ridiculous one Ross County got at Celtic Park in November?

It shouldn't be a penalty yesterday, but by the current standards of penalty awards it is a penalty, same as some of the ones awarded against Celtic this season, including the aforementioned one from November when the ball kicks up from a short pass and strikes O'Riley inadvertently on the hand, or when Bernabei jumped to defend a cross against Dundee United with his back to the ball and it again, inadvertently strikes his arm.

All three are penalties given the ridiculous directive for handball in the penalty area just now where, any contact with the arm now is deemed a spot kick, in my opinion this needs addressed sooner rather than later by FIFA as there is absolutely zero allowance for common sense from referees to be applied, it's the current idiotic directive for contact with the arm, intentional or otherwise that is to blame for the penalty yesterday, not an inherent bias to Celtic.

As sure as you have a hole in your arse County would have been given a penalty yesterday had such an incident occurred up the other end as, VAR would have flagged it and Collum would have to award it under the current interpretation of the handball rule.

They cant though, as much as its a bollocks rule theres little grey area which means more consistency from the officials

Before, when the penalty rules were based on intent etc, one ref one week gives a penalty that another ref didnt give the week before for the same thing, all because of an opinion

Now theres not really an opinion, its based on facts and while its an absolute shit show for defenders it takes away the inconsistency (or at least it should do)

As much as i hate you lot, everyone saying its hard not to jump with your arms up etc, i didnt see vickers arm up that high so a bit of "how'd the defender manage that" might be needed here as well

And again VAR once again getting a wrong decision correct, people may hate it, but it was spot on with its call there

Handball still needs to be deliberate or the player has to have made their body unnaturally bigger (in the opinion of the referee). So there is still a lot of subjectivity to it, particularly in cases of unnatural body positions.
