That and the letter sent to MSPs are remarkable. Surprised more hasn’t been said about it on here tbh.

What's this about a letter sent to MSPs?

Grant Russell has pretty much eviscerated this lie from Maxwell about the BBC not being able to show the match nationwide by listing everything they've previously shown nationwide for about 10 years instead of the final

It's possible that Maxwell was fed a duff line from the BBC about UK-wide broadcast, but equally he should have known to question it given that as far as I know (and I'm happy to be corrected by the history boffins), the Scottish Cup Final has never been shown live UK-wide on the BBC.

He's been clever in the wording in that letter IMO which seeks to portray ICT as wanting a half five KO.

Spot on. They were obviously given the choice of 12.15 and 5.30 so chose 5.30. The club's preference would be 3.00.

When I grew up in the 80s, the BBC and STV shared rights for the Scottish Cup final and both broadcast it live, always on the same day as the English Cup final.... down south they would show the match from Wembley, there was no mass exodus of people on trains to Carlisle to watch the FA cup final, staggering that Maxwell and the SFA are still pursuing this bullshit.

Moot point, my dad couldn't stand Archie McPherson and his 'annoying fucking voice and stupid pish he comes out with' so we would watch the STV coverage whilst pre, post match and at half time flicking over to the BBC during the endless adverts on STV.

Good morning.

Does anyone know what the the arrangements will be from central to Mount Florida, i.e will there be segregated trains as it's one of the OF and they will be filling the majority of the stadium , or will it be be un-segregated as was the semi-final, and we got to enjoy the shared journey with the Falkirk fans?

Thanks

Those kids in the video bring a joy that is unconditional. What a lesson for even the most jaundiced.

Surprised Celtic haven't been up their usual mind games and dirty tricks like starting rumours about signing a couple of our players, to put them off.

Isn’t that more a Rangers thing?

As part of the build up to this years Scottish Cup Final, 70-year-old Steve Taylor will attempt to cycle from Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, Inverness, to Hampden Park, Glasgow, IN A DAY !!!

Steve is a lifelong 'Baggies' fan, a bit of a fitness freak, and has followed Caley Thistle since their formation in 1994.

The idea comes through his charitable work with some Celtic-supporting friends, and his passion for Caley Thistle.

In honour of both teams making this year's final, he will do this to raise money for both Celtic and Inverness' affiliated charities - The Celtic Foundation, and MikeysLine - monies raised will be split equally between the two!

If you have access to Twitter, you can follow the story at @Road2Hampden

A link to the just giving page is below, along with details of each charity and a backstory to Steve's charitable history.

Thank You for your support 🙏

Back Story

In 2003, as part of Steve's 50th birthday celebrations, he and a small band of Caley Thislte fans walked 161-miles from Inverness to Falkirk for what was the final game at Brockville. Affectionatelty dubbed The Highland March, This 'one off' event was so popular, they did it again, and again, and again, eventually calling it a day after 13 events, finishing at Celtic Park in 2015.

They have walked from Inverness to Dunfermline, St Mirren (Old Love Street), Hamilton, Ross County (via Skye!) and Celtic. They have also walked to Inverness from Clyde, Falkirk (Falkirk Stadium), Dundee, St Mirren (New Love Street), Kilmarnock and Ayr!

The event may be reborn as a result of Steve's 'Road 2 Hampden' cycle, though time will tell if the Marchers are up for it 😉

The Charities

MIKEYSLINE  - MikeysLine are a relatively new and small charity in the Highlands, who provide people of all ages in Inverness and the Highlands with Mental Health support. Every penny they receive goes to helping those most vulnerable. Hearts legend and Caley Thistle Sporting Director, John Robertson, is an ambassador for the charity.

CELTIC FOUNDATION - The Celtic Foundation are the well established charity of Celtic FC, providing assistance and care to some of the most vulnerable and poverty striken people in Glasgow, regardless of age, gender, religion, ability or ethnicity.

Your support for this event would be very much appreciated 🙏 Thank You!
