The Famous Aberdeen’s European Tour 2023/24

As much as I hate to say it, it cut to the Limassol game with the players lined up in the tunnel about to walk out, so it makes perfect sense to cut across when it did. 😒

Eta: that said, I bet the TNT bosses weren't particularly sweating with the tractor delay as they'd probably have cut to Ibrox even if there were just 2 minutes to go in the Aberdeen game.

Let's get the negatives out of the way. Awful weather, awful pitch, awful colour of ball and awful camerawork. First 5 minutes we were decent, the next 30 we were shite and the rest of the game we were ok minimum. We had loads of opportunities on the break second half where we should have done better. Got caught in possession too many times, but good fightback from the team. Maybe not the best match to judge Gueye on, but he looks to lack basic skill, pace, energy, passion and commitment. Who thought it was a good idea to spend £500k on him (if rumours are to be believed).

Yet again, an Aberdeen match in Europe this season was a great match. We have been in every match in Europe this season right up until the final whistle. Obviously you want results to go with the performances, but a few other Scottish teams in the past few seasons would have been pleased with similar showings.

Seven matches no wins for the Dons this season, been in every match, just not been good enough

Three very decent 2-2 away draws - and VAR does its job and we probably beat PAOK at home.

Given PAOK did the double over Eintracht and utterly robidouxed Hearts - them some perspective maybe required.

Disappointments have been the home games with the Swedish and Finnish champions..

Eintracht in a fortnight is now meaningless for both clubs - but the LC final probably means we play tonight’s first half team.

Again, Aberdeen have surprised in this competition. But for some bad luck and losing a few bad goals, could have done even better.

Perhaps Aberdeen should demand to play foreign teams every week.

Failing to win a single game is a surprise tbf.

Just watched the highlights on Youtube - mainly because I knew the match had 4 goals and was played in the snow (always entertaining).  Aberdeen did well to come back and could have nicked it.

Bonuses were the snowba's, the tractors and the sub appearance of Perparim Hetemaj, because I signed him several times in Football Manager way back in the day and had forgotten he existed.
