Granny Danger Posted Friday at 07:47 Share Posted Friday at 07:47 Will Biden listen to anyone? His wife maybe? It’s late in the day but another candidate would be a better option. The thought of a second Trump term with a more organised administration and Project 2025 as the blueprint will frighten any right thinking person.

Michael W Posted Friday at 08:10 Share Posted Friday at 08:10 Almost like it's a terrible idea putting up a man that's long past retirement age and has a history of blunders. All Trump has to do is show that he's less of a doddery old man and he walks it.

Granny Danger Posted Friday at 08:17 Share Posted Friday at 08:17 CNN poll showing 67% thought Trump performed better than Biden. 67% to 33% is a staggeringly bad repudiation of Biden.
btb Posted Friday at 08:17 Share Posted Friday at 08:17 Dick Van Dyke endorsing Biden. Quote Dick Van Dyke shrugs off Joe Biden age concerns: I’m 98, and ‘I’ve got all my marbles’ Chim chim Cher-ee!

If the Democrats put anyone vaguely cogent in the frame, they will make mincemeat of Trump (if he had the balls to actually do another set of debates). Biden, clearly, has to step aside.
RiG Posted Friday at 08:42 Share Posted Friday at 08:42 Trump is obviously abhorrent and also has his own fair share of "malfunctions" but Biden was just woeful last night.

Biden, clearly, has to step aside. They'd perform better than the doddery old clown but this is not realistic. So long as Trump is on the Republican ticket and the Democrat is an incumbent, you can pretty much lock in 45% support for Trump at a minimum. Liberals don't want to accept that, but it's the reality of the two-party system over there. The second issue is that the Democrats don't have a credible slate of alternatives, in part because they doubled down on their geriatric options in the 2020 primary. The Communist Party of the Soviet Union had better leadership options in the early 1980s than this.
vikingTON Posted Friday at 08:58 Share Posted Friday at 08:58 Not looking good for the biggest village idiot in Texas, who was confidently predicting that Trump would be discredited, in jail and replaced by the neoliberal darling Nikki Haley by now.
Cheese Posted Friday at 08:58 Share Posted Friday at 08:58 Changing candidate at this stage, after you've been desperately telling everyone for the past year what a big, strong, mentally competent leader your boy is will look almost as bad.

Maybe they could say he's had a wee TIA and needs to stand down for medical reasons rather than being cognitively impaired.
