Third Division 23/24

Threave 3 Lanark 2

We can have no complaints.  We had our chances and didn't take them, particularly after such a bright start and going 1 up.  Equaliser was a clear penalty for handball but cross should never have been allowed to get into the box.  Threave keeper has a great save 20 seconds into the 2nd half but we go 2-1 down inside 50 seconds ( great strike).  We lose a third from our poorly taken corner and then claw one back through Chucky Watt who was offside.  We missed an excellent chance to equalise on 90 minutes but our cause wasn't helped by Scott Nicol getting himself sent off on 75 mins.

Dafty of the day was the Threave number 9 for getting sent off seconds from the full time whistle. Threave very well organised and played out from the back throughout.

Great set up, lovely people and I can confirm that the pre match pie AND sausage roll was £3.50 very well spent.

Sam North shows up for Kello's first win after being there for Saltcoats:

Great trip down to Kello and the steak pie is right up there as the best pie to have at the games.  Big Kello keeper is a character.  Cannot believe that ref, get the wee fella's chased..

That's actually ridiculous from the referee...he should have told the keeper to get on with it

Took in West Park's dramatic loss to Threave today, the home side started slow and Threave were good value for their 2-0 lead until WP fought back.

West Park were much better after the break and deserved to be ahead, I thought. The decision-making of their #9 perhaps cost them from putting the game out of sight.

The Threave winner was a stunner, a proper thunderb*****d.

Lanark 2  Pt Glw 0

10 out injured probably helps explain why we made such hard work of today. We didn't play well but did hit the bar, when we should have scored, and pulled 3 excellent saves from their keeper.  I don't recall our keeper having a save to make. Took a late ( stonewall) penalty to seal the points following a 43rd minute opener.

We are rising up the table but will need to take more of the chances we are creating. Only 2 teams have scored fewer goals than us in the division so far.

Gow 3 Threave Rovers 1

A much improved performance. Looking like a different team from the last few weeks.

Threave scored against the run of play, then equalised before half time.

Midway through second half, we were down to ten men, harshly.

Seemed to galvanise us and we scored a couple from well taken corners.

Good start for big Sinky.

Bellshill 5 - 0 Glasgow united

good win for Bellshill after the disappointing result the previous week in what was a very wet but very busy Rockburn park

game started scrappy with both teams trying to get used to the conditions the Bellshill took the lead from a top quality Kev frazer freekick then were quickly 2 up after Kieron markey beat the offside trap to square the ball for the first of what would be a hat trick for big jack Currie a mix up between keeper and defender saw him get his second for a 3-0 half time lead

into the second half and Bellshill we’re in total control jack Currie completed the hat trick with a nice strike from the edge of the box and a well working move saw Calvin Cowie finish off the scoring and send the large Bellshill crowd home happy now for some cup action over the next couple of weekend for Bellshill with Lanark next at home on Saturday 🟡⚫🟡⚫🟡⚫
