Third Division 23/24

Glasgow United 3

Kello Rovers 2

"A game of two halves"

Kello deservedly went 2 up after 25 mins

Utd got one back when Goodwillie finished from an tight angle on 62 mins.

further goals from a Coleman free kick and a Goodwillie penalty before the 70th minute mark put us ahead.

Tight finish with both teams having further chances, best of the bunch a save from our keeper Roche, tipping over a drive from 30 yrds...

Big ask for us for promotion  need to put a good run together which we seem incapable of .....

Kilsyth Athletic 0-1 Vale of Leven

A battling win. Wasn't pretty at times but another huge three points and clean sheet.

I was impressed by Kilsyth. I thought you might drop points there. They try and play football but not got much up front.

A fairly comfortable win for Lanark today although Pt Glow missed a couple of good chances.

We were 3 up and coasting when we made 5 substitutions on 65 mins. The tempo changed dramatically. We conceded a late consolation but not before we missed a glaring chance to go 4 up. Both keepers had excellent saves.

A late and mysterious red for a Pt Glw sub who came on around 90 mins and lasted 2 mins. Not sure if he said something to the ref.

Our impressive run of form continues. Game at a time as they say.

Chucky Watt has asked for a transfer, which is a great pity, particularly at this stage of the season.  In my Top3 of all time favourite Lanark players.

Con Boyle also on the list.

Neither getting many starts so presume their desire to play more minutes has trumped playing their ongoing part in potential promotion, possibly as League winners.

Good to see Finnart Star moving up the divisions. Hopefully the days of playing out of Springburn Public Park are almost over.

Where would they play, if not there?

Seen Crownpoint being mentioned as being their new home, wherever that is.

Halfway between celtic park and the barras on the gallowgate, 2 mins from bellgrove station

They won the Community Transfer bid v a joint Cyde/Glasgow Athletic to take over Crownpoint Sports Centre from a skint Glasgow City Council in the East End. Literally within minutes of two railway stations (Bellgrove and Bridgeton) and a dozen bus routes.

Plus Finnart Star look to be climbing the leagues.

Though funnily enough FS haven't said much on social media since they won the bid.

So will FS be your 'team' from now on brother? Easy to get to and plenty of opportunities to users stick of yours, with them not being a 'proper' club. 😉

Well as someone who goes to 4 or 5 games a week many of them in the arse end of Post Industrial Scotland, it will be certainly be handier to get to.

If the folks that run FS can hold it together and don't go all San Toi internally then the future is very bright and maybe even a bit Orange

Finnart Star are named after a street in Bridgeton and wear blue, Brother.

Points on the board, but could easily be squeezed out the Top 3.

Longer term looking good for them certainly. Built on mid-table last year. Crownpoint to move into to create their own home. Have to imagine SFA membership and being around newer clubs like St Cadoc's, Gartcairn, and Drumchapel Utd as a worse case scenario.

Got it in my head they were a Carntyne club, shows what I know.

They have certainly kept under the promotion talk radar, even if they just miss out this year, they are to be commended on how they have conducted themselves as a new club. Taken a bit of flak playing at the Park, but always seemed to have a plan in place, so glad City Council gave lease to a local side and not succumbed to any big names flashing money at them.

An example, to date, for any potential new senior clubs to follow.

Let's hope they don't allow any Santa types in through the door with a bit of cash to throw around.

Do they have a core following, I know Kilsyth Athletic who joined at same time have a core of about 40-50 at home games and have a travelling support in double figures?

Where do you think Chucky will go to? Lanark have got themselves in a good position surprised Chucky has decided to leave is the cracks starting to appear I wonder. As far as the Gow are concerned we will need to go on a big win streak to go up 11 out of 13 which is some ask. Finnart it’s over if they get beat by the gow at weekend. Bellshill Glasgow utd Lanark vale of Leven Threave looking at the table 3 of them going up.
