Lyrics where the artist just gave up.....

It doesn't look all that bad when you read it but I still cringe at this part of Belle and Sebastian's song Nobody's Empire. It really doesn't work

Now I look at you, you're a mother of two
You're a quiet revolution
Marching with the crowd, singing dirty and loud
For the people's emancipation

The second half of "Hey Jude".

Friendly advice to Julian Lennon that consists of "La, La-La, La-La-La-La, La-La-La-La, Hey Jude" over and over again.

If I was Julian Lennon, I would have been seriously pissed off.

It's "nanananananana" not "lalalalalalala", which i think we can all agree is much better advice.

You were distant, now you're nearer

I can feel your face inside the mirror

The line before this is "You're good-looking and you're looking like you should be good......."

Nah, Sabbath get away with that, no way did Ozzy know the masses were both spelled the same.

It was Geezer Butler wot wrote most of Sabbath's lyrics back in the earlies.

Having read a number of GBs interviews over the years I'd argue he is the most damaged of the original line up and that includes the drummer, Bill Ward.

GB has been in the news a lot recently because he is releasing his autobiography.

*********************

Paranoid (lyrics mainly be GB)

Finished with my woman
'Cause she couldn't help me with my mind
People think I'm insane
Because I am frowning all the time
All day long, I think of things
But nothing seems to satisfy
Think I'll lose my mind
If I don't find something to pacify
Can you help me
Occupy my brain?
Oh, yeah
I need someone to show me
The things in life that I can't find
I can't see the things that make true happiness
I must be blind
Make a joke and I will sigh
And you will laugh and I will cry
Happiness, I cannot feel
And love, to me, is so unreal
And so, as you hear these words
Telling you, now, of my state
I tell you to enjoy life
I wish I could, but it's too late

Wouldn't be so bad if Kilimanjaro was visible from the Serengeti. It's 200 odd miles away.

‘Lyrics where the artist has a poor grasp of geography’ for this pish…

Could have an entire thread on this topic devoted to this band:

I'm needin some loving, I'm hot like an oven.

Disclaimer: it's the first band I ever got into. I was 7. I still have Dressed To Kill on vinyl, but haven't played it in maybe 36 years.

I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby

I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby

There's so many angels surrounding me
And clouds I see are below
Tellin' me what I already know

The sun couldn't be brighter
And the moon at night like a tune I like
It's such a joy
That my lips can't hold anymore

I, I love you baby, I love you baby
I, I love you baby

I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby

I feel like I'm dancin'
To my own heartbeat
My soul's got feet
And I pray
That the feelin' never ends

I can't stop smilin'
My mouth can't hide what's deep down inside and so
Gotta say it again, and again, and again, and again

I, I love you baby, I love you baby
I, I love you baby

I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby

I
I
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby
I love you baby

Lou Reed rhymed "Head" with "Head" in Walk on the Wild Side.

Bella from the Red Hot Chili Peppers has this one:

I love her, I need her
Can't stop until I feed her
I want her so badly
Hell, no, my name ain't Bradley

At the end of Dock of the Bay, Otis gives up on lyrics altogether and whistles. One story says he forgot what he was going to sing, another that it was a recording 'marker' for later addition of lyrics, yet another that it was intentional. Still one of the best songs ever, imo.

For those complaining about food inflation, spare a thought for the singer of The Motors.   His love has left to go to a place "where the food is so much cheaper."

It's a PTTGOMN, but the video for the song features a plane at Cruising Altitude with no sign of a bloody airport anywhere.
