How does VAR continue to get worse, it's actually impressive at this point.

It's like they have backed themselves into a corner over it by never actually admitting that VAR as it exists is shite. By refusing to alter the central make up of VAR and instead just tinkering with completely subjective guidance for when it gets involved all they have done is move the inconsistency. Its dreadful and no amount of "high bar" patter will.change that.

Fundamentally we were told it will result in less wrong decisions, but for whatever reason, they have now decided that some obviously wrong decisions are OK.

So they've half admitted that VAR was unpopular with fans and f**king the experience if being at a match, but instead of a revamp they've just went back on the whole concept

Bizarre intervention in the Spurs game there. Vicario very obviously handled the ball outside the box. The referee inexplicably missed it. But then a VAR review happened.

What was VAR going to give? It's almost always a yellow for that. And a free kick obviously. So VAR checks it. Then despite the obviousness of what happened, doesn't get involved. Wtf

Arguably a red card there as he palms the ball away from a Brentford player, denying a goalscoring opportunity.... absolutely baffling that nothing was given

I just don't get it. I mean, by normal VAR remit, I'd say they shouldn't get involved anyway. But having got involved, they would see that he definitely did it.

So why did they decide to get involved to confirm what it looked like had happened, then confirm it, then do nothing?

I thought VAR could only intervene if it's a penalty or a red card. If they decide it's not a red then play continues.

Yeah can only have been a potential red card check I suppose but would love to know the logic that unfolded therr
