McCoist is at it. Said Moyes has got it spot on 🤣

Arsenal have missed about four guilt edged chances here.

He did, Ogbonna "legs have gone" , Mavropanos has really struggled to settle in but both are completely dominant in the air. West Ham were so compact, Arsenal kept finding themselves being pushed out wide, lumping it in and it being cleared away. It was a really good defensive display.

Definitely missed too many chances tonight.

McCoist and Moyes must be best pals behind the scenes though. Verbal fellatio of the highest order here.

Crediting a manager for winning away at one of the top sides in the league - wild stuff.

Arsenal had three great chances that came from crossing the ball in to the box.

There's a big difference.

Still think Arsenal's lack of a top class finisher will be what costs them this season, they don't have anyone with more than 5 league goals at the moment.

Aye, you're winning hee-haw with Jesus and Nketiah as your centre forward options.

Saw Arsenal had an XG of about 3.5 and if they had even someone like Isak or Solanke or Toney (the latter two they've been linked with), they might have got something out that game. They are far too slow though and when it became clear West Ham were flooding the central areas, I'm amazed Arteta didn't try and get Arsenal playing with 2 wide on each side, forcing West Ham to move 4, 5 or even 6 players out the middle to open up space. When Nelson came on, Trossard (and then Smith Rowe) should have been doubling up on the left, and White should have been up beside Saka a lot more. As it was, Ødegaard was the only one who looked like creating anything and he often had 3 or 4 men on him. Great organisation by West Ham even if they did allow a few chances near the end.

The boy Nathan Collins put in one of the worst Barclays performance of all time against his old club Wolves.

Somewhere, somehow, Oguchi Oyenwu and Titus Bramble* were nodding in appreciation.

*Other shite players are available.

I mind someone once describing someone's shite defending as a "Bramble of Titus proportions".

Always made me laugh.

He really was a donkey.

I would be trying Martinelli through the middle. Jesus wide left

*England's number one*

A fucking honking goalkeeper. They'll, thankfully, win f**k all with him in nets.

Ach, he's a decent keeper with a honking attitude.

That said, a year ago I'd have said that despite Southgate's loyalty he was England's 4th best behind Pope, Ramsdale and Henderson. Right now he's all they've got though! Pope's out till Easter time. Arteta has decided to end Ramsdale's season in August unless he forces a move in January and Henderson's been out the best part of a year albeit he's back now. Behind that they've Sam Johnstone, another average keeper who is also now injured, and James Trafford who is all potential at the moment.

He'd a couple of brilliant saves before messing up so badly. That's life for a goalkeeper, Onana is the same although obviously not a factor in the England argument. As you say, he's probably the best option until Ramsdale starts playing.

Some cracking games ahead this weekend though I'm not sure if I'll cope not knowing how many subs have been used now that Amazon have had their quota of games.

I will laugh if Fulham beat Arsenal.

He's not perfect, but Pickford is superior to Ramsdale and all England's other goalkeeper options in just about every department.

I think him and Ramsdale are very similar both in style and ability level.

I would strongly argue that Nick Pope is better at what I want in a goalkeeper, i.e. the better shot stopper who goes largely unnoticed when the ball isnt in his box.

Pickford does have a worldy in him from time to time, but he is just as capable of chucking one in and is more prone to that most other EPL keepers. Plus his reputation of being good with his feet seems to largely be based on the fact he can kick it fucking miles in a relatively straight line. It never really amounts to anything.

Anyway, can only hope Everton finally get the relegation theyve been avoiding the last few years like a broke alky dad trying to dodge child support and we get a close up of Pickford's smug wee face when the realisation hits.

Probably usual rubbish but currently has about 3000 likes on Twitter so worth sharing:

Saw that on X, formerly known as Twitter (as we must call it apparently) yesterday. Someone replied "if you're a Newcastle player you aren't going to take hookers up to a city centre hotel ffs" - but didn't Jack Grealish do the same in Birmingham when he was at Villa, and not only that but was filmed with said prostitute? Footballers are notoriously thick and entitled, so that defence doesn't stand up to scrutiny, m'lud.

I read somewhere that some of the EPL clubs arrange escorts for their players as they won't do kiss and tell stories to the papers and won't get pregnant as long as the £££ keeps hitting the bank.

Again, not sure how much truth in it but can see the point regarding publicity and keeping things in house.
