Crawford Bridge Posted Sunday at 15:00 Share Posted Sunday at 15:00 Fat Ange is jut the modern Kevin Keegan. The press will lick his bum for his style of play but ultimately it will achieve nothing.

Seem to be the same ineffectual Spurs who achieve nothing. Ange has done really well on the back of a short period of success in a one team league. When he eventually gets emptied by Spurs for being pish he’ll get a huge compensation package. After the capitulations of Rodgers, Gerrard and now Ange down there it’s unlikely any team down south will take a punt on an old firm manager again.

Rodgers did a good job at Leicester and won a trophy, it just went tits up. Gerrard had a bit of a fluke season up here, and Ange hasn’t really done any worse than any Spurs manager after Poch. Managers from better leagues have had much worse times of it.

craigkillie Posted Sunday at 15:17 Share Posted Sunday at 15:17 Postecoglou did well before Celtic too, it wasn't as though it was his first job. He was hugely successful in the A League, his Australia team were dull but got the job done, and he was pretty good in Japan too.

Yeah, Tbf he has won titles in Australia and also the J League which is a pretty competitive league.

I mean his success in England can be debated, but he definitely wasn’t ever an Old Firm manager punt.

Arsene Wenger was, eventually, sacked for under performance. Doesn't mean he did a bad job at Arsenal. Rodgers won the cup with Leicester and had them challenging for top four. He was pretty successful there for a fair while.

Wenger’s reign and Rodgers are not comparable mate. An alternative view could be that he took over a Leicester team who’d fairly recently won a title and made them worse each season until his sacking and relegation for them.
Bully Wee Villa Posted Sunday at 15:52 Share Posted Sunday at 15:52 Leicester weren't doing well when he took over, otherwise they wouldn't have been looking for a new manager. Winning the FA Cup is the second best thing they've ever done. The vast majority of managerial spells end in the sack, doesn't mean everything that happened up that point was shite.

Fair point about Puel. We’ll agree to disagree about Rodgers though. I think he’s done well in the Scottish Premiership with Celtic but outside that he’s not been brilliant. Certainly not the elite coach many in the Scottish media and indeed P&B have him down as.

What he could do with lifting an FA Cup / League Cup / Europa but how tough will that be. Not an easy job.
