Another story comes out about Brand exposing himself to a woman

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-66882644

He and his then co-host Matt Morgan then mentioned the incident on air a few minutes later.

Matt Morgan said that he wasn't aware of any improper behaviour in reponse to the documentary on Saturday night.

Having listened to the bit broadcast by the BBC days later,

Brand - Guilty pervert weirdo.

Morgan - Must think we stupid if he saying he didn't know of inappropriate behaviour, he joking and laughing and exactly describing it,

BBC - Thought that was acceptable to broadcast - glad I'd given up on Radio 1 by then.

There was an interview on Woman’s Hour with the woman who accused Brand of sexually assaulting her when she was 16 talking about their relationship. She said that alongside BBC cars Ickes her up from school to take her to Brands house, Brand’s agent advised him not to be seen with her in public as having a 16 year old girlfriend would be bad for his image. They discussed whether to claim the girl was Brand’s niece or goddaughter before deciding just to have them arrive at Brand’s house hours apart to avoid any suspicion. His agent at the time says he can’t comment due to legal issues that he also cannot discuss (super-injunction?).

If you are sitting in a brainstorming session on how to cover up a man in his 30s shagging a 16 year old schoolgirl would you not re-examine your life?

Probably part of the job description back in the day.

I suppose it’s all relative. I suspect that if the “ litany” of stories doing the rounds are found to be true, the covering up of a relationship with a schoolgirl was probably a relief from the grind of filling brown envelopes for sexual assault victims and completing injunction paperwork.

As if it weren't bad enough.

What exactly is the accusation? that he committed an act without her consent? I'm asking cause I havent read up on it.  or is this more like the schofield case? people were calling on schofiield to be charged, but what with? sexual relationships with large age gaps of the kind we're talking about, although socially unacceptable, are not illegal?

In some other places the age of consent laws are a bit more nuanced ( got to be careful how you spell that!) where sex between 2 young people of a similar age is tolerated but the blanket threshold is higher. most people would agree it is mental to criminalise an 18 year old for having sex with a 17 year old, it's also equaly mental that a 38 year old can legally sleep with a 17 year old!  perhaps we should think about something like that?

The woman he dated when she was 16 year old accused him of sexually assaulting her during their relationship.

We should make the “half your age + 7” rule a legal requirement.

I don't think anybody has implemented that precisely but there are jurisdictions which have exemptions to age of consent for narrow age gaps

In the UK a 30year old having sex with a 16 year old is legal, but a 16 year old with a 15 year old girlfriend or boyfriend is, legally speaking, a sex offender

Which intuitively seems out of order

Good that Kate Shermani plays the family values card when her crackpottery has caused her children and family to become estranged from her.

Worth remembering that Brand received the notification of the allegations more than two weeks ago and has since claimed he has witnesses who directly contradict the allegations. He’s lost his YouTube monetisation, lost his book deal and has been released by his agency. If he had evidence that these allegations are true it’s in his interest to reveal it, he could salvage his £1m/year revenue from YouTube, get his book out, tour back on.

Instead he’s raving on Rumble to an audience of Covid brained lunatics. Got to assume that this is it, this is going to be his line of defence/attack. Muh Deep State.

Seen this getting shared a lot recently. Apparently Russell Brand telling the truth is the reason he's getting attacked. Also, he has kids now so any and all previous crimes should be forgiven.

Was Kate not the woman who got struck off as a nurse after some tasty COVID takes?
