I hated Muscat as a player, so my opinion of him as a manager may be tainted by that. He looks to have a decent record in Australia and Japan, but have no idea how that would translate over here. The big issue for anyone coming in is that they need to work with the group of players that are currently there, and for the most part, have failed miserably under the last two managers. Can anyone coming in manage to get a tune out if this squad? He seems like quite a solid, dependable appointment. Must be tough though for a foreign manager to understand things on his first day at Ibrox. I don’t even just mean with the picture of the King on the wall but imagine turning up for your first meeting with the directors and they say “look you probably won’t believe this but see the financial part of this business it has absolutely nothing to do with the football club.
