The Red Diamond

Imagine deleting a match thread when your team got beat. The pettiness involved in that is absolutely delicious.

The natural order has been restored. The good guys beat the bad guys and Airdrie are back in their box.

That's nothing. When Kilmarnock lost to us in the League Cup in 2017, they deleted every reference to the match from their social media and website.

Every Ayrdrie* match thread must be called "The red diamond" in their honour.

Spoiler

*as I suggested in The red diamond (1.0), the winner decides how Ayr/Air is spelt.

I will now refer to Airdrie as Ayrdrie until there is a draw/Ayrdrie victory. Thanks.

If it's a draw does the result get retained like the Calcutta Cup?

According to the (100% real) rulebook:

Quote

[...] "In the event of a draw, both sides default to their own spelling of Ayr/Air

The previous winner does not get to impose their last victory upon the opposition, as it is now considered historical."
