Replays Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 I see Scott Brown (yes that one) is training with The Spartans and considering coming out of retirement. That’ll be fun… 0 Quote

That’ll be fun… As long as it's not the actual Scott Brown, who is safely stored away at Raith Rovers... 1 Quote

That’ll be fun… Craig Levein attended our recent match away to Spartans, let's hope he has no designs on returning to international football management. 2 Quote
Glorious Purpose Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Scott Brown turning out for Spartans would be very cinch. Based on his time at Aberdeen and a few matches I watched of theirs, his legs were completely gone then. A year plus away from playing won't have helped him either although will still have a decent level of fitness. He has family involvement at the club's youth level according to reports so perhaps not hugely unrealistic if still strange. On our side a lot will depend on how much Monday took out of us physically. Olivebank was a tight pitch and not as heavy as perhaps expected with the weather before the game so as far as the requirement of extra time being a factor it might not have done too much damage. I would hope to see Liam Scullion start and Alex King back from enforced Cup prison but I don't envisage many other changes from what started on Monday night. 0 Quote

Brian Carrigan Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 I'd like to see this on Saturday, given who we have available: - Leighfield - - Hynes - Carswell - Dunachie - Craig - - Leslie - King - Scullion - Stevenson - - Rennie - Young - I wouldn't mind Whyte in the above for Carswell. 0 Quote

Whyte at CH if Carswell play RB? can Hynes play LB? 0 Quote

Why not just play players in their specialist positions? Craig hasn't been great this season but he's still a left-back, and Hynes is a right-back, so just play them there rather than doing any weird jiggery-pokery. We now have a mostly fit squad, so there's no excuse for playing players out of position. 0 Quote
FREDDYFRY Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 (edited) Saying Craig hasn’t been great is like a classic Danny Lennon post match understatement. He has been absolutely terrible. So much so EVEN Lyons out of position is a better option. Craig’s regression since tail end of last season has been frightening. He simply cannot defend. Edited November 2, 2023 by FREDDYFRY 1 Quote

SLClyde Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Sula and Forbes dropped which had to happen. 0 Quote
Replays Posted November 4, 2023 Author Posted November 4, 2023 So soft. Had spells of keeping the ball to create absolutely nothing. Spartans wander forward twice and we concede our usual powderpuff goals. Good luck to any new manager getting a tune out of that. A blow losing Whyte too - hope it’s not too serious. He looked concerned coming off. 0 Quote
the_bully_wee Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Have these guys ever met one another? 0 Quote
David W Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Expecting Dunachie to be our playmaker hasn't gone to plan. Another team who have done absolutely nothing to score two goals. 0 Quote
Jaggy Snake Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 (edited) No tracking at the first goal and you could see the confusion of players not knowing who to pick up before the corner so no surprise to concede from it. Formation not working and, as above, leaving Dunachie stuck with the ball is mental. Edited November 4, 2023 by Jaggy Snake 0 Quote
the_bully_wee Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 You've got to applaud the wisdom of sticking with a formation on the strength of scraping past a team from two leagues below on a tight tattie field using it. Announce actual gaffer asap pls 0 Quote
Replays Posted November 4, 2023 Author Posted November 4, 2023 I hate this team, I really do. 0 Quote
