Motherwell vs St Johnstone, Sunday 19 May

Recommended Posts

Good bunch of lads, Motherwell. Not only for allowing us the three points yesterday, and failing to beat us this season, but as we stayed up by four goals, their 5-0 and 5-1 wins over County were important.

A reminder yesterday as well of just how bad the view is from that top tier, unless you are at the very front. Could folk in the busier middle sections actually see the near goal?

Not a chance.

I'd rather we'd just gave you £50k for Bair rather than 6 points ngl.

A reminder that although Saints won, they were quite lucky.  Well missed a penalty, hit the inside of the post and had a couple of goalbound shots blocked in the box, as well as being put under spells of serious pressure.

Fucking brilliant isn't it.

Let's not forget that Liam Kelly also made a terrific double save and both Adama and Benji totally fluffed chances when they were through 1 on 1 with the keeper. Whilst we had luck on our side, with better finishing, we score 4 easily if not more.

On another note, I've seen multiple Saints fans describing Sunday as a 'miracle'. The extent of the negative spiral that football supporters can fall into when their team is struggling... It's quite something.

I know we've been terrible, but getting 3 points against Motherwell is hardly a miracle. And Ross County were always likely to drop points against Aberdeen, making a victory the only requirement.

Don't think Sunday is the miracle, it's from where we were when MacLean was sacked.

Livvy's collapse has helped but normally is hard to give teams a 9 game start.

At 1 point I considered we might not win a game this season.

I think it's pretty miraculous. I think we've got the worst squad in the league. To finish not only 10th but 10 points clear of the team that finished bottom is a miracle IMO.

I like this take, certainly more proportional than most you see on the Banto page...

Aye from this, to staying up in 10th, in 29 games and our star signing being from the English 7th tier.

what's it like? I've been up there once or twice and I can't mind having complaints.
