1320Lichtie
I might be wrong but I think if Cowie had been gaffer all season County be nowhere near it at bottom. They actually look like a no bad side and I don’t mean just from watching them last night but in the Premiership too. They were miles above Raith for most of the game with Danda looking like an absolute class act… Raith should’ve ended up with the game a draw however so all to play for but got to fancy County to get through now.
tree house tam
Fully expect County to score three more on Sunday. Raith to have anymore than ten minutes ball time in the second leg? Probably not. County are FAR better at home.

Malky was an abomination, Adams destroyed the team spirit for some reason, and Cowie was left to pick up the pieces. More than happy for him to get the gig, whatever Sunday’s result is. Which is just as well, because I believe that’s what will happen.

I’m not saying say that we are definitely going to win but we have a chance. Probably going to need a performance like we had at Tannadice back in December where Dylan Easton was fantastic and every player put in a real shift.

To turn this around you'll need to be at a level above what you've played this season and then hope County really have an off day. It's not impossible but it is going to be very very hard for you. It would've been the same if it was Saints you were playing as well, these sides are better than Dundee United and there is a gap in quality, it may not look it when getting pumped on TV by Celtic or The Rangers but it's there.
SouthStander1876
Went to this one as a neutral, any county fans that can confirm or deny that the wee guy that got picked up and carried out was trying to headbutt stewards on the way out, looked like it from where I was

We’ve had plenty of off days, to be fair! I’d also say Raith didn’t seem to have any notion of Dhanda’s ability and really let him run things. They won’t make that mistake again, but they might leave Murray or Sims if he starts free. Big gap in quality, as you’d expect. Stranger things have happened, but a County goal probably kills off Raith.

It's taken until the very end of the season, but we are finally at the point where Cowie is just about picking what I would say is the strongest XI in the squad. Sims over White, or Brophy IF he was on it. If Allardice was fit then he'd be in midfield. Edited May 24 by bunglebonce

He was excellent against Aberdeen in the second half. Randall has come onto a game too.
ZingaliMan
No disrespect to Raith but to hell with these plastic pitches so I hope County stays up. Plus a wee trip up the Highlands is always enjoyable. -

I can understand Adams being Adams and just picking him anyway to make some kind of point, but he’s just not as good in any sense as Brown.
FitbaSupporter
Easy to forget that we’re starting these games with a third choice centre back who was playing in the Lowland League last season. He’s done reasonably well but would much rather have had Watson/Murray, Murray/Ashcroft or Watson/Ashcroft.
BPM
No idea why Easton isn’t in that team and the likes of Brown, Hamilton, Byrne and Connelly are? Why is Stanton playing wide? You could see the minute Raith brought on Easton and Mullen Ross County looked a lot less comfortable. My bet is Murray will go all cautious again on Sunday and will be out of the tie by half time if he does so. Much better to go for it now IMO.

jasperellon
Longs balls to Hamilton who is actually better with the ball at his feet than winning headers. Murray must have looked at County’s defensive record and thought long ball to a big striker would get us goals. It didn’t. however, we lost 2-1 at home to Partick in the semi final and still got through so there is hope. keep the ball on the deck where most of positive play this season has worked and worked well. Byrne was our best player last night. Some lovely touches and that pass…. Edited May 24 by jasperellon

He was maybe getting slightly hard done by when he was getting escorted out initially after the 2nd goal, but then decided to absolutely lose the head
