dundeeunited83
Superb signing, 100% going three at back this season 3/4 more the same quality signings and it’s a really good window

A couple of red flags with him once you go past his ability.

Only seems to be good for an hour or so, but he's your first genuine quality top flight addition and better than what you've got. Can't be upset about that. Strain will be earning about 6 times more than those 2 combined, and all for half a seasons worth of 45 minute appearances.

You don't think Ferry will be as well?

Perhaps - but paying over the odds for a relatively quality addition is much preferable to paying anything for known shite IMO. Plus, it'll give me point and laugh ammo if it goes wrong for them. It really is win-win for everyone involved.

People said the same about Moult. Let's wait and see how he does

Sibbald clearly is top tier quality as well. Watt and Moult proven at this level. Middleton hmmm Trapanovski has potential Another eastern European signed who could be great. Graham proven at the top level. I mean I'd hazard a guess most of these guys mentioned will at least be acceptable for top flight football.

Watt and Graham - I wouldn't be thanking you for, personally. I'll concede Sibbald and Moult.
houston_bud
Strain is a good signing, we really noticed when he was out the team last year. Dundee United must be throwing a few quid about. Were all those stories of impending doom going about nonsense?

On the signing itself, read the St.Mirren board and that will tell you all about him.
DumbartonBud
I don’t think any saints fans would have been disappointed if he had signed back on for us, great going forward and good delivery. When fit will give you a good 60-70 minutes when not fit will fill a seat in the stands. Thought he would have gone higher than United but as random mentioned, there might be more to this move than meets the eye.

We cut the budget by £2.6m last season and have since released 20 odd players this summer. There should be plenty of scope to bring in a few guys on decent wages. The fact we can offer more than St Mirren is not really remarkable given the relative size of the two clubs.

Brilliant.
