Middleton's been disastrous on the right. Not even a Watt scenario where he looks like he knows he's on the way out so he's not trying, he just can't play there. It'll be between Fotheringham and the new guy for that role, I imagine Middleton's cover for Trapanovski if we can't get rid before the window closes.
Ascal
Can he play RWB? Seriously tho a bit of pace on the right and a player who can cut inside will be welcome. 10 forwards for 3 starting berths tho - McLeod/Watt away or Striton/Forbes farmed out on loan? I think we'll keep Middleton personally, he's at the very least adequate at either LWB or LWF and we don't really have the depth behind Ferry without him As an aside - based on today's performances Stenhousemuir look like they'd have been the second seeds in the Dees League Cup group, make of that what you will? A good six months at Tannadice and he'll change his name from Meshack to MeShed! ... ... ...yeah OK @Granny Dangers joke was better...
Butters Scotch
1 minute ago, Ascal said: If Will Ferry pulls up tomorrow - God forbid - who do you sub in at LWB if not Middleton? You'd probably have to put either Graham or Holt in there, Middleton really doesn't have the tactical nous to be a defender IMO. I questioned at the time of letting go of McMann, a solid player for us who can fill in when needed. Once he was gone you had to go bring in two quality replacements in a key position in this formation, let's hope Ferry doesn't get injured
Granny Danger
Emergency loan for Andy Robertson. He’s not fully fit but could maybe do a job for us.

Pull My Strings
Absolutely no chance Graham or Holt are playing LWB. Middleton's the obvious cover in that position and beyond that you're probably looking at Thomson or Sevelj being asked to fill in.
Alert Mongoose
Spurs, Atletico Madrid and Dortmund were in for this new signing as recently as last season. As long as he hasn't fallen off a cliff then this could be a game changer.
