Why not just tie a load of statue defenders in a line? I'm sure they'd be willing to volunteer; going from defending a couple of statues to directly protecting are boarders? They'd be heroes. They should all sign up IMO.

Are you Suella Braverman's chief advisor? 🙂

Less than 2 months since this shower were in government and they just feel so irrelevant right now. Nobody gives a shit about this race. Whoever wins will be toast the day after the next election, if not before.

Imagine having a Prime Minister called Tom Tugendhat. Wasn't he one of Gandalf's mates?

Poor wee Priti; yesterday's smirking fascist. She must have been livid when Badenoch and Braverman started muscling in on her territory.

I honestly thought I’d be overjoyed when a black woman became the leader of a major political party in the UK.

Never thought she’d be a fascist mind you.  :(

Top comedienne[citation needed] Gina Yashere had a bit about how right-wing and racist immigrants can be. Apparently her Nigerian mother was very big on the "send them all back home" and "Britain is full" lines.

It's really sad how some people handle bigotry by slavishly playing up to the racists in the hope that they'll be accepted as "one of the good ones". Protip: they'll be coming for you too once the low-hanging fruit has been removed.

.. but is she afraid of the Daleks or the Cybermen?

No, she's currently negotiating a trade agreement and military pact with them.

The Conservative Party needs to "stop acting like Labour" to win back power, leadership candidate Kemi Badenoch has said.

Launching her campaign with a speech in central London, the shadow communities secretary said one of her party's mistakes in government was "we talked right but governed left".

Wired to the f**king moon.

What do Tories want?

Semantics, but "banning under 18's changing gender" just demonstrates that most of the folk actually concerned about this don't have the first f**king clue what they are gibbering about.

You'd have to define "gender" first of all in order to prevent anyone changing it, and since their position implicitly denies there is any such thing, you'll have a hard time legislating against something you are simultaneously contending does not exist.

Essentially they are saying this - "Gender does not exist and is an entirely man-made concept, but we're going to attempt to police it anyway".

You might as well attempt to police what thoughts people have inside their heads it's so nebulous.

As things are, nobody legally changes their "gender" in any case. Acquiring a GRC legally changes your birth sex to whatever is denoted on your GRC. The fact that the people most opposed to this and fervent about a defacto removal of rights can't even grasp that sex and gender are absolutely not the same thing, but will take any opportunity to "oppose" anything they think might be related to trans tells you all you need to know.

Also, the next time anyone spouts any shite about the EA2010 needing "clarified" to protect women, just remind them that Lady Haldane has already, quite rightly, dismissed FWS's speculative bollocks about there being any sort of confusion in the first place. EA2010 was formulated full in the knowledge of the existing GRA2004, so "women" insofar as the EA is concerned, absolutely, unequivocally, and always has included people who are legally women courtesy of a GRC. Anyone who tries the caper of "clarity" is demanding one thing only, i.e. a rewrite of the law to expressly remove the rights of trans people who have acquired a GRC.  So no, it isn't about "clarifying" anything, it's about striking a pre-existing law from the books to remove the rights of a group of people, even though that law was formulated with full, deliberate understanding of the consequences and there is no "mistake" or any need for "clarity" whatsoever. At least the same groups who are campaigning for the repeal of the entire GRA2004 are being fundamentally honest about their wish to roll back the rights of trans people, but there is no honesty whatsoever in pretending the EA needs "clarified".

Is it any wonder people confuse terminology when this state of affairs exists.

As abhorrent or downright stupid as some of their views are, leaving the ECHR has to be top of the list. Some of those who'd support this will be working class, homosexual, or from ethnic minority backgrounds. Some will have family/friends who've served time in jail. We already know that some have parents or grandparents who came to the UK for a new life, perhaps even employing the services of the hated human rights lawyers.

Unsure if they're dense/arrogant enough to think that somehow their useful idiocy will make them an exception to the inevitable, or just think it would be worth the risk to see people they don't like being persecuted.

Wouldn't rule out Labour doing it, especially since they made a point of saying they wouldn't.

I can see them making noises about withdrawing from the ECHR in the lead-up to the next election, purely out of desperation to stay in power. I can't imagine Sir Keef being too happy about it, but these are the votes they need, and nobody's going to be persuaded that this is a dreadful idea after decades of being told that furriners are bad and crime is rampant.

As the Tories have discovered, the problem with chasing the fascist vote is that it both legitimises them and makes people think, "why would I try Diet Fash when the full-fat version is over there with the nooses and nice designer uniforms?"
