This isn't a competition covered by International boxing rules. She's competing under Olympic rules and meets the criteria to participate.  Whether that should have been allowed is a legitimate matter for discussion, but of course the chance of nuanced facts based debate on this issue are nil.

The quotes from the Italian in the all the reports were weird too. Kept calling herself "a warrior" but then said she chucked it because nobody had punched her that hard in the face before.
