Varna Rover
a battling win by the rovers but we need 2 forwrads who can put the ball in the net
Nightmare
No surprises on two fronts: 1. That Raith fans’ pre-match knickerwetting was overstated 2. That we have dafties calling for Doolan’s head already
SanStarko
Quite a cathartic win after the last week. Under a lot of pressure early on but held up well and gradually got ourselves into it. Thought Murray and Dick at the back were fantastic, really for for a cobbled together defence with guys out of position they were all brilliant. Although it probably helps having Big Kev behind them, he's carried on from last season but has clearly been working on his weak points. His kicking is far better, he's actually collecting crosses rather than always punching. And his new habit of collecting the ball near the striker and bumping into them is just funny to be honest. Every Rovers player showed a bit of dig and desire, although with some questionable decision making at times. Mullin's one in the second half where he got the ball not too far from the Partick box then started running towards our box before losing it was a bit infuriating. Felt a bit sorry for young Kai when he came on too as it seemed the tempo of the game was way higher than anything he's used to, but it's a learning experience for him. Get the new manager in early next week hopefully and get then two weeks to get things back on track and ready for Ayr.
pub car king
Kev won that for us today absolutly assured performance from the big Polish ride. Mullin has been a passenger for a while now. Gibson is going to be fine at this level. Easton and Smith both put in an absolute shift and must be exhausted.
RAITHROVERS84
Liam Dick was fantastic today, same with Murray. Other standouts were KB, Smith and Gibson. The latter looks a great prospect. That right back for Thistle was poor, didn’t look a footballer to me. I also enjoyed having two refs today, good performance from Mr Brian Graham in that dept. My old man was buzzing with the fact that Potter didn’t stop cajoling and shouting from the sideline. His biggest criticism of Murray was how much of a game he spent sitting on his rear.

Keyser Soze
Some dig from the players today, pretty much to a man put in a hell of a shift. Thought Gibson looked good until he picked up a knock, hopefully just a precaution to sub him. Callum Smith was outstanding and as for big Kev 2 weeks until Ayr, hopefully time to get 2 or 3 players (at least) back fully fit and time for a new gaffer to work with the squad.

Pride of Fife
Cracking result. Great to see the players’ dig in. After the week we’ve had and the numerous guys out injured it would have been easy to chuck it but the boys battled for the badge and each other. By the time we play Ayr we should have a new gaffer, have half a dozen injured players back in the fold and perhaps one or two new faces… Its a good day.
Ro Sham Bo
Yeah that was all about the result today. We were really poor until we got ahead and that gave us a bit of belief. Not pretty on the eye but good to see the players all dig in for the cause. The goalkeeper and centre halves all put in good performances and Smith put in a great shift up front on his own.

Irosshed and I was wrong
It might be because of circumstance but Smith has made that centre forward position his at the moment. He might not be a 30 goal a season man but he leads the line exceptionally.
CrossgatesCynic
Well deserved MOTM for Dabrowski today. Came for - & took - balls in ways he’d simply never have contemplated last season. Seems an incredibly braver player than last season already. Can only be a good thing going forward.

CountryBumpkin
Just now, Been going too long said: Thought Byrne had a good game tbh better than he has been for a while but we all see it differently He grew more into it, but the first half he was guilty of poor misplaced passes and headers, second half you could see him struggling to deal with Partick getting the ball between the lines. He's a good player but he can't be a midfield runner, we need to have two around him to do that role and let him get space and time to get the ball down.

Sweaty Morph
A ropey first 5-10 minutes but overall a good result; one that I didn't see coming especially on seeing the lack of squad depth when the team lines were released. I was disappointed with Thistle, didn't think they looked good at all and their number 4 in particular was terrible. Brian Graham is a whiging shite too. Optimism for the season is back, hopefully some injured players back and a new gaffer on place by the time the next round of fixtures come round. Happy Saturday!
