What's The 'Poshest' Thing You've Ever Done?

Recommended Posts

I had two blue maize tortilla chips tonight.  They were actually shown as ‘black tortilla chips’.

Anyway I’d never heard of them but thought they were posh.  They were actually tasteless.

I attended a conference at one of the Oxford colleges after which I, and several colleagues, hired a punt for a spot of jolly boating. No straw hats or stripey blazers but a sizeable carry-out. Propelling these things with a pole is harder than it looks. Not my natural milieu and less enjoyable than the Swannie Ponds.

Reluctant Greenie for the Swannie Ponds reference, because the Swannie Pond is singular.

Unless it's not the Swannie Pond in the Stobbie..

I am both surprised and disappointed that a "blow-in" from, presumably, Fife should seek to contradict an indigenous person.

Born in Dundee, and sojourned in Fife in my formative years, before returning to Lochee, so will accept this. My father was a native of the Stobbie however, so will blame his education in the Morgan for this aberration..

The bottom pond is currently closed for recreational use due to repairs including the removal of weeds.

Not for the first time the terms ‘weed’ and ‘recreational use’ have been used when discussing the people of the Stobbie.

I was once in a motorcade with one of the European Commissioners (Bruce Milan) where we had an escort of police outriders who made sure we never had to stop from our departure point to our destination point.

It was both very embarrassing and yet bizarrely cool.
