~~~ Posted February 25, 2015 Share Posted February 25, 2015 There's absolutely feck all wrong with being a weegie. My maw is and half my family are from Anniesland/Carntyne. West Coasters shouldn't take it as some sort of insult. Some of the greatest Scots of all time are weegies. Weegies being anyone that is within a 30 mile radius of Glasgow. Ah so they left the snobby west end, with placed with as Knightswood and moved to the glorious east end 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Smurph Posted February 25, 2015 Share Posted February 25, 2015 Ah so they left the snobby west end, with placed with as Knightswood and moved to the glorious east end I don't know what this means, but I'm going to take it as an insult against my scheme. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
vikingTON Posted February 25, 2015 Share Posted February 25, 2015 I'll fucking West Coaster you, I think you'll find we're not even on the coast. Interesting to know that you'd class someone from Stirling as a Weegie. Even Livingston is about 30 miles from Glasgow but you wouldn't call them Weegies. Lazy, derogatory term used by lazy, derisory teuchtars. Even stranger considering that Stirling is actually an integral part of teuchter country. -1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
The decline of proofreading since the advent of the spellchecker has led to some utter abominations. You feel like whipping out the blue pencil when reading magazines these days. It's not like my spelling and grammar is particularly great, but it's getting to the point that you can stuff in any old word that could conceivably sound like the one you actually meant to use..
