Petty Things That Get On Your Nerves...

Liar liar is on TV today and because it is a 12 certificate with some slightly naughty language in it it has been edited so all the funniest gags aren’t in the film.

On New Years eve they showed the unedited version of the Dambusters with the dog repeatedly getting called by it's outdated name. Would have assumed that would be changed too tbh.

Crazy. With such inoffensive films as Liar Liar though when they edit out words like “b*****d” and a few mild sexual references it completely ruins the film as so many of the gags are cut short. You shouldn’t need to edit films that you’re showing at daytime nowadays anyway, show that it’s a 12 certificate with a bit of naughty language if parents don’t want their kids viewing it and just show the movie as it is.

They did once and got so many complaints that they never did it again.

Saw the Simpsons episode where the insurance guy asks Homer what type of business Moes is and they skipped the whole classic bit where he says it's a pornography store. I was raging

This is making me more annoyed, as I said there is just no need to be editing films in this day and age so that children won’t hear a swear word during the day time. Just clearly show that a film is a 12,15 or 18 certificate and let the parents put what ever security measures they want on their smart TVs and show the fucking films as they are.

The Big Lebowski one on here is moderately amusing.

I've seen a few with the Doggone Melon Farmer mentioned previously. Just stupid. And I remember ITV showing Lethal Weapon 2 back in the mid 90s. Despite showing it in the evening, Joe Pesci was dubbed to be loudly complaining that "they frig you at the drive thru".

Americans are fine with kids getting shot and showing very graphic stuff on the news repeatedly each day but absolutely draw the line at 'swear words' in films.

An odd place.
