The Tradeston pedestrian bridge at Atlantic Quay. It is the one that is an s shape just to the South West of Central Station. Next to the casino.

10.04 at 3k on the green today?

I note an unheard of young boy won it today in a very fast time?

A new star of the future?

Probably for 7.30. Traffic's actually fine if you're coming from the West, the buses still run along Princes St too. Train to Waverley's very handy if you're further afield (on the app so no idea where you're based).

Yeah it was indeed 10'04" for me at 3k on the Green yesterday. A course pb by 8 seconds so I was well pleased with that. I am counting it as my overall 3k pb as well. The 3k I ran at Hogganfield Loch (9'58" ) in March was definitely short by around 100m imo and was not an officially measured/timed run.

3k is a bit of a short distance for me as I don't really have the top end speed for it. I think 5k and 10k are better distances for me, but I am going to keep going to 3k on the Green as much as possible to try and improve further.

Indeed, just noticed it was a course record today!

And the boy in second was just 3 secs behind. Fast race indeed!

Yeah the quality of the field yesterday was scary. Some really fast guys there - the course record was smashed by both 1st and 2nd place! Edited by BishyTON

Full marathon is about 10 but half starts at 8.

Just remember if you're bringing a bag to drop off it'll be closing about quarter to. You'll probably be able to be dropped off somewhere around St Andrew Square at the east end of George Street - a 10 mins walk or so from there.

It is lunacy the way they are doing it imo. The half should start at 10am and the marathon at 8am. That limits the amount of time anyway is running on the midday sun (if it appears). I believe there is different finishing points, so this should be possible?

Same finishing point so I assume they're looking to make sure that the quick marathon runners don't get caught behind the slower half marathon runners.  Maybe if they do a decent course that finished in Edinburgh city centre they could manage it!

Kirkcudbright Half Marathon for me today - my first half and only my second race. Was really warm and had been told to watch out for a few hills, although I think I'd built them up so much in my mind I barely noticed them. Stunning scenery in places and would recommend it to anyone.

Would have been happy with finishing in under two hours and I made it round in 1:51.46, which I'm thrilled with. Took it sensibly most of the route then really kicked on for the last mile or so and passed a fair few folk to finish 93rd out of more than 130 :)

Edit: 199 finishers so I sneaked into the top half, brilliant!

I did my first organised 10k at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival today. I thoroughly enjoyed it, it has to be said and a new PB to boot.

The last time I posted on the thread was just before Christmas regarding a calf pull and I thought the gods had conspired against me last Sunday when I felt my hamstring tweak on a run.

I went out for a couple of walk/jog's during the week and felt it again on Thursday. I really thought I might not make it but I was determined to do it, as it was my first.

Anyway, all the best to those running in half and full marathons tomorrow. 😀

Currently on the bus back to town the proud holder of a shiny new PB! Knew sub 1:30 was possible if it went really well...and it did!

1:29:24 is nearly 3 mins off my previous best and that was with a celebratory cruise over the line when I realised I wasn't going below 1:29!

2:17 for me. Just off last years time, training wasn't as good this year. Had to stop for a piss as well which probably cost me a PB. I'm not pissing myself in public for it though.
