ShakehandsTom - DFC
Half marathon done today. Aching right now. volunteer tomorrow at Parkrun after that. Well Done, that's great! Just a comparatively small run (but a decent one for me just now) of 7.5km tonight. First 'proper' run since the turn of the year. And while I felt burst after it, it also felt good and I enjoyed getting back into it.

ShakehandsTom - DFC
Good work on a Friday night Shakey. You too, sir! Starting to get right back into it now, and aiming for the half-marathon later in the year, so got to make a good effort and take it seriously. Enjoying it though!
young_bairn
What half are you doing? 8.20 miles on the treadmill. Last night in 60 mins with random incline. Was tough.
Jack Burton
Strathclyde Parkrun this morning, my time was crap no surprise giving the little running I've done the last couple of weeks. I've signed up for the 10k at Grangemouth stadium in March so have to start getting out more often.

Someone is trying to talk me into the Edinburgh Half, but it starts at 8AM, which is a total pain in the arse.

Absolute bedlam at the finish, too many people. Watch time says 23:48 which I'm quite pleased with, target was to beat 25 minutes. Didn't get the pacing right though, I still had a few km left in me so probably could have taken the last few hundred metres a lot faster. Fun though.
Disco Duck
424 runners in the Edinburgh Parkrun today, biggest by about 40 or 50 I think.
Gaz
Falkirk is postponed for a few weeks so I know a few of the regulars were heading through to Edinburgh. Too much hassle for me.
Garrowhillclyde
Just went out with my wee group of runners there for a not so quick 5k in that sleet and wind. Feckin miserable it was. I've now got a red face that looks like a skelped arse. Roll on spring.
Jack Burton
8.5km run in the snow today wasn't too bad apart from the hill up around Shotts golf club felt like I had climbed a mountain by the time I got to the top of it such was the difference in the weather conditions up there.
Thundermonkey
I have the chance of joining my works team for the Great North Run. Tempting but the furthest I can push myself right now is 30 mins (covering about 4km). Dilemma.
Garrowhillclyde
Thundermonkey is back. Surely you can polish that time up in the meantime.
Thundermonkey
Not sure. I've been out of action because I've not given myself enough time to recover from injury. I'd like to give myself enough space to get over a calf injury and some proper training for it.

Delighted at that but kinda disappointed too as I didnt quite get under 25 mins. Next week hopefully.

Neefie Noodle
Jesus. thats averaging over 240m a minute. Mercy. I've not been able to run properly since then. Did a couple of kms on Thursday, but legs were heavy. Hip and hamstring were a bit sore, so I've been resting up. This week Tuesday - 1 lap efforts with 4 mins rest Wed - Gym Thursday - 1km in pairs for 30mins. Friday - rest Saturday - ECCA Champs (12km X-C race) Sunday - Will I be able to do anything?
true_rover
Set the stopwatch for half an hour at lunchtime from work yesterday, ran out and turned round at the end of the time. Ended up running 7.2 miles in 58 and a half mins. Feeling like I should be in good shape for the 13.1km race in Edinburgh next month.
