Bearwithme
Pakistan 12 in the lead with 4 wickets remaining. A decent position but they'll regret the wickets they lost towards the end of the day.
mjw
England will need to wipe out a 100+ lead again if they are to win this match.

die hard doonhamer
214 the lead. Younus made 218.
peasy23
England 4 wickets down already. 84-4 at the moment.
peasy23
88-4 at the close. Vince got out for 0, following his 1 in the first innings. Could that be his last chance?

Can only hope. He should have made way for Rashid in this test. Easier in hindsight but still hard to fathom why only one spinner and a part timer at that for the Oval!?
die hard doonhamer
Rashid should have come in at Old Trafford to get him test experience, as he will play over the winter.
mjw
If India don't win 2-0 against the Windies,England will be the number one test side. Its hard to believe a team so inconsistent could be at the top.
Arthur Orton
Epitomises the fact that there is no outstanding test sides at the present moment. Some decidedly average cricket being played all over the globe at present. On a plus side good to see the Aussies facing another toughie in Sri Lanka. Would be hilarious if they crash to a 3 0 defeat. In respect of England some of the batting has been criminal. For me Hales and Vince are nowhere near good enough and Ballance looks as nervous as can be.
Bobby Skidmarks
Hales is a white ball cricketer, an excellent one but he doesn't have the discipline to play Test cricket. Vince just isn't good enough. Ballance deserves another series imo. For the Winter tour, I'd bring in Rashid for Vince and move everybody up one. I'd also drop Hales for Borthwick.
Leicesterlichtie
England top order hitting self destruct button again. Hales has had his chance now, Vince can't be far off. Borthwick must be next for a chance. Not sure who could be next opener. Sure the Bairstow/Buttler conversation will come up again.
Jupiter Jazz
I'd get Daniel Bell Drummond of Kent in. I'm not sure I could suffer another series of Gary Ballance.

Tend to agree with the hales thing but reckon he still has wee bit of credit in the bank from Edgbaston n the Sri Lanka series. Vince hasn't shown much of a learning curve despite the fact he often looks the part before gifting his wicket. Rashid coming in a shuffling everyone up one looks a very decent option.
dogmc
Crazy run out just about knocks final nail in coffin followed immediately by bairstow being caught. Unless a stargate from headingley 1981 opens to let Willis n Botham through the only question is will Pakistan need to bat to win.

Hales has now played eleven tests averaging under 30 & still hasn't made a ton. He is not the answer. Vince is a less elegant version of Ramprakash, and Ballance is rotten too. Wouldn't be surprised to see them bump everyone up a spot and bring in Buttler to keep wicket and Rashid for Finn. Borthwick due a try too.
Benjamin_Nevis
Rashid's just been absolutely caned in the County Championship Roses match. 149 runs for a solitary wicket.
Bully Wee Villa
Just need centuries from Finn and Broad and England are right back in this.

Bairstow Stokes n Ali can all bat higher than they are.
Bully Wee Villa
Underdogs now. Elsewhere, Scotland made an impressive 327 for 5 in their ODI against the UAE. Centuries for Coetzen and Mommson.
