peasy23
One of Theresa May's last acts as PM was to dish out some honours, and she has given Andrew Strauss and Geoffrey Boycott knighthoods.

Savage Henry
That’s Gower officially away from Sky. Hopefully TMS pick him up, because he’s much better than Charles Dagnell or, particularly, Dan Norcroft.

Botham leaving sky as well apparently

Agree with Stauss, twice Ashes captain and does a lot for charity. Boycott, alleged woman beater. Found guilty but still denies it. Also his "black me face" comment.
Sir Tarmo Kink
My team of the Ashes so far: BurnsDenlyRootSmithLabuschagneStokesPaineCumminsLyonBroadHazlewood Not much choice for the top 3 to be honest as the Aussie top order has been pretty rank. Burns has made a couple of decent scores and I think Root and Denly are something like the 5th and 6th top scorers this series which seems ridiculous given how poor they’ve seemed. But you can’t put Warner, Bancroft, Harris or Roy there. Smith, Labuschagne and Stokes pick themselves. Picked Paine just to have a keeper, as both have been shite. 4 bowlers pick themselves for me.

Can't argue with that. A very good assesment.
Glenanover
Will Geoffrey Boycott get to keep his knighthood . Loads of people wanting it taking off him.

I agree with your team but I think there is room for an argument over Archers inclusion. The one England bowler to have caused the best batsman in the series problems

die hard doonhamer
I was completely underwhelmed watching Archer at Old Trafford last week. He spent most of the game looking like he couldn't be arsed being there. His first run in the first innings, where he was nearly run out, was horrendous, lazy cricket.

Sir Tarmo Kink
Big fan of Chris Gayle hitting 116 off 62 balls as his team made 241 (in a T20) yet they still lost with 7 balls remaining. Edit - also props to Evin Lewis hitting 53 off 18 balls
jaggyness
Roy and Overton dropped for Woakes and Curran. Stokes playing as a specialist batsman as expected

Muzza81
Watching quite a bit of Ashes reruns recently and it really struck me how many poor decisions there are - I don’t mean it’s particularly excessive but there’s a few really poor ones. You never, ever hear players etc complain about officials though. It also highlights how good an addition DRS is in the game.
