Nobody, its a sham of a competition, an affront to cricket and I hope it fails miserably.   The time wasted on this shite could have been allocated to red ball cricket.  The ECB are wankers.

Indeed - but one of the teams is dressed as a bag of Skips, so I'm in simply to see professional cricketers look like they are in an episode of Its a Knockout

Crazy how in so many sports you see ideas from the big wigs that only they think is a good idea. 4 day test matches is definitely one of those, great to see Paine and Lyon defending the traditional 5 days after cricket Australia’s chief exec said he’d be looking at the idea.

Interesting how under bayliss England were seen as a white ball team, winning t20 and 50 over world titles in the decade and none of their players in either of the one day format teams
Can't really argue against any of the selections though, quite sad to think of how good the Windies could have been in red ball cricket over the decade if it wasn't for the constant arguments over money. That team, more than anything, got me into Cricket back in the mid to late 80's.

This sounds odd considering England have come 1st and 2nd in World T20s this decade but I still don’t see them as ever really being a T20 team. There’s also the case that T20 has massively evolved over the decade, and par scores were much lower back when England won it. That entire XI are still ripping up the IPL and other T20 leagues which are just as good as some internationals.

The argument for the ODI one is that England were only good post-2015, and were more of a team than top individuals.

Archer away for a scan on an elbow injury and doubtful for tomorrow.

It seems whatever bug was affecting the England camp has now cleared, as they reported the full squad was training yesterday. They've somehow managed to shift it a few thousand miles overseas as NZ are now having similar problems.

That will be convenient in terms of shoehorning Bess in without upsetting anyone.

Since I posted that they've announced that Leach is unavailable. No big loss tbh.
He just needs to go home & rest, will be important in Sri Lanka alongside Root & Denly if they are sensible enough to bowl them.

Wonder what England’s attack will be in Sri Lanka. Last time they had 3 specialist spinners (Rashid, Leach and I count Moeen). In Galle, 16 of England’s 20 wickets came from spin. 19/20 in Pallekele and 14/20 in Colombo.

Do England go with 3 of Moeen, Bess, Leach and Parkinson? Or do they go with 2 plus using Denly and Root more?

Moeen being available would be nice but the series falls exactly in line with the Pakistan Super League which I suspect Moeen would rather take part in.

Don't see Mo coming back, Leach & Parkinson as they have to blood him, should be the frontline spinners. Best to leave Broad out & go with Stokes, Anderson & Curran as the seam options & Joe Root needs to step up & realise he is a decent bowler. Will have decent depth in batting while having 7 bowling options, Ben Foakes really needs to be called up to keep wicket though,it is getting embarrassing with Jos in the red ball format.
