peasy23
Root out lbw for 218, he was sure it was missing down leg side but ball tracking had it hitting leg stump.
peasy23
501-6 at drinks, Buttler just survived a huge catch appeal, certainly looked close. Not given though and he drove the next ball for 4 to bring up the 500.Just showed the replay, he got an edge on it.

Snicko confirmed there was an edge, but India had burned through all 3 of their reviews.

One of them was for a catch against Pope when the ball hit him midway up his forearm.

Moomintroll
England batting far too long here for no apparent purpose, at least have a bit of a swing to add 30 odd tail runs from this position. You should always give your pace bowlers two bites at a new cherry at the end and start of play if you can

Moomintroll
Clearly no interest in winning the game first & foremost here, you always need big runs in the first innings in India but feel that England have missed a trick by not giving Jimmy & Jofra a chance against openers who have spent a long day in the field.

They just put India’s batting averages up on the screen. Only one of the top seven under 40.

Two thoughts. 1. Bess is still scoring. This pitch is only going to get worse. Take the runs when you can. 2. What would the Indian fielders most like? Nip off for a shower, or spend another hour chasing the ball all over the shop? You don’t lessen the pressure when you’re on top in India.

After a long day in the field with the mental & physical pressures that brings the last thing you need is Jimmy probing with a hint of swing & Jofra digging into your ribs at 90+ mph. I think they have been too defensive here if they want to win, it could have been 14-3 with both openers & the nightwatchman gone or it could have been 25-0 with no drama but they didn't ask the question which is poor in my opinion.
