Moomintroll
You just know that England will be 88 all out or will somehow knock off 450 runs in 80 overs tomorrow, gloriously bonkers.
PB1994
That Jack Leach is some player eh. They should play him more often…
Moomintroll
Did not see Jack Leach getting 10 wickets in this match, fair dos to him. Lets see what the magical mayhem that is Englands batting line up have for us next, probably a 60 ball ton for Sam Billings coming in at 20-5.
Left Back
Would just about rather be in NZ’s shoes than England but not much in it. Pitch is starting to misbehave which might just see NZ home. ETA Broad said before the start of play today they’d be happy chasing 300. I thought they’d be looking to bowl NZ out for less than that. jaggyness
That Jack Leach is some player eh. They should play him more often…Whilst pleased for him, this will cover some pretty major deficiencies in his game. His line and length aren't consistent enough for someone who isn't a big turner. He has had a lot of bad luck in his career though so nice to see him having a good test.
die hard doonhamer
Richie Berrington is the new Scotland captain. Matthew Cross appointed to vice-captain. Berrington felt the obvious choice for me. Cross is an interesting one, though, as I felt his place might have been under threat a little with him having struggled with the bat in recent series, while Craig Wallace has been in superb form domestically for Forfarshire.
peasy23
Eoin Morgan set to announce his retirement from international cricket. I would presume after the World Cup.
peasy23
England obviously had one eye on the weather forecast with yesterday's lightning quick start to the run chase. Play was due to start at 12 but the rain came back on and so did the covers. It won't take long for England to knock off the remaining runs if they do get started.

Should still be plenty time to finish the game.

Mark Connolly
Saw an interesting stat yesterday that England were playing significantly more attacking shots (%age wise) under McCullum than under any previous coach. It’s obviously correct, but it seems bizarre considering the unbelievably stupid shots they had been getting themselves out with until recently!

Instead of blocking lots and the batsmen therefore being under pressure and eventually getting out with a rash shot (down to frustration more than anything else) this sea change in mindset puts the bowler under pressure so you get more bad balls to hit and can therefore score faster. It's a virtuous circle.

Left Back
If I was Root I'd be seething that Bairstow has gone full Stokes again and in all likelihood has prevented him from getting another test hundred.

Looks like it tbf, he only has one 50 in his last 26 white ball innings.
