peasy23
England's bowlers finally show up and limit India to 229-9. On the evidence of this tourney and also how the Indian batsmen struggled on this pitch, I still wouldn't fancy England to chase that down.

Was gutted I had to leave for the football and miss the end of Australia v New Zealand, it was shaping up to be a cracker and ended up that way. Absolutely delighted with this. After the hammering by Australia, they picked themselves up and then had this performance, especially the bowlers did great. And that direct hit by Van Beek was a great one. The Dutch media seem to finally take notice of the cricket team too, that media attention has been really lacking so here is hoping it will pick up, this team deserve that.

India keep getting dot balls and Stokes has just been bowled, 33/3 after 8 overs. You'd fancy India now, especially with Stokes gone.

It doesn't help though that the ECB have relegated the domestic 50 over game to a glorified reserve league whilst the stars play an unnecessary tournament in a format that nobody else plays... peasy23
Been some poor dismissals, but that was an absolute jaffa that done for Buttler.
rowsdower
That woakes dismissal had big "screw you guys, I'm going home" energy. The inquest into this shit show will be fun.
Moomintroll
Our team & the Windies must be sitting at home wondering why this shambles are there instead of us.

Michael W
Six players clean bowled. You don't see that very often.

Stokes hasn't played a domestic ODI since something like 2016. People will blame the hundred but the problems are rooted deeper than that.
The Golden God
England inventing sports, colonising half the globe, then getting pumped by those countries at the sport they invented is always hilarious. Especially since it’s happened so often recently.

It's a tournament that adds nothing yet relegates domestic 50 over cricket to some kind of second string tournament.
peasy23
Afghanistan looking decent as they chase 242 against Sri Lanka. 119-2 after 25 overs with a very composed 55 from Rahmat Shah
peasy23
How many teams qualify automatically for the next tournament, is it 7 or 8? Could we hilariously see England having to qualify?
peasy23
Afghanistan ended up with a 7 wicket win with 28 balls to spare keeping their hopes of a semi final alive. Here's how it looks with everyone having played 6 games.

The hosts (South Africa and Zimbabwe) will automatically qualify along with the top 8 sides in the ODI rankings on 31st March 2027. Namibia are also co-hosts, but have to go through qualifying because they are an associate member. This World Cup is used as qualification for the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan, 8 teams will take part which is the top 8 of this tournament (or top 7 + Pakistan as hosts if they fail to finish in the top 8). Hopefully we can stay ahead of England and qualify at their expense.
