I'm not into anything too serious, but want a hardtail around £500 Any recommendations out there? Was it the unfamiliar bike? It's always a risk of course, I go through phases of shitting it on the bike. Hope you mend well and are ready to go again in the spring. There was a drain going across the width of the road, with the spaces between the bars going in the same direction as I was , a bit of a hazard for cycling! Front wheel went in the space and threw me forward. I've fitted it (fiddly, but got there) but have encountered a practical issue - the bag is a top bag, which obscures my rear reflector and lights. I'm now struggling to find any ready-made solution to mount a reflector and light(s) to the rack itself. The rack is this - http://www.specialized.com/gb/gb/ftb/commute-accessories/commute-accessories/specialized-elite-rear-rackAs you can see, it has a small vertical bracket with two holes and apparently Specialized used to make reflectors and lights for it, but they don't seem to anymore. Not sure if it would go small enough to fit on to the frame of your rack. I made a small 90 degree aluminium plate bracket with some holes, nothing fancy and bolted it to the tail of the rack. Cable tie some lights to it using the holes. In any case, I'd prefer something more permanent on the bike itself. I did find this on Amazon, which might help - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cateye-REAR-MULTI-MOUNT-BRACKET/dp/B005MMQBYU/ref=sr_1_1?s=sports&rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1451397062&sr=1-1&keywords=rear+multi-mount+bracket The middle hole should allow it to be mounted to the bracket that came with the rack, but even if it doesn't then there's plenty of other holes for cable ties. It seems strange this isn't easier. I'd have thought a bracket that adds a vertical seat post-width tube to a rack would be quite common. I made this for a cycle trip a few years ago and wanted to have multiple lights at the rear.
