peasy23
Great approach by Bob on 18Pars it to finish on -6 and tied 7th, but more importantly projected to finish above Kitayama in the rankings.
Mark Connolly
Yeah, putter went a bit cold in the last few. I'm sticking a fiver on him to win next week. He's due a win, and seems the type to wait for a big one!
peasy23
Calum Hill ended up tied 49th at the Mayakoba Classic. Kuchar was one of two players to hit a hole in one today, just his luck that he gets to split the bar bill with someone.
Distant Doonhamer
Calum Hill ended up tied 49th at the Mayakoba Classic. Kuchar was one of two players to hit a hole in one today, just his luck that he gets to split the bar bill with someone. Decent performance by Hill. Two double bogies on the front 9 were no doubt a setback but 2 birdies on the back 9 steadied the ship.. Russell Knox birdied the first 4 holes in his final round and finished tied 33rd after a good round of 67. Another decent display. Edit to add that some players still to complete round 4 when darkness fell so above positions could be subject to change. Knox and Hill have completed round 4.

Edit: Knox confirmed as T33rd, but Hill actually ended up a place higher than last night at T48th.

Ro Sham Bo
At the Q school marathon, it's the end of the 4th round which is where the cut is applied. 5 out of the 6 Scottish golfers appear to be through with only Liam Johnston missing out, by one shot. Only Ewen Ferguson is currently in the top 25 though, after a superb 64 today left him 17th. It's a tightly packed field so anyone who has made the cut could still theoretically get in the top 25 if they put a couple of good rounds together.
Ro Sham Bo
Had a quick scan down the list of players missing out and there are a few recognisable names in there. the one that jumps out though is Matteo Manassero who didn't manage to break 300 for his 4 rounds. Some fall from grace for him.

Rookie of the year in 2010 and among his 4 wins was the 2013 BMW at Wentworth which took him to 28th in the world. 2 years ago he was 372nd, but after a dismal season which hasn't seen him play on the weekend since the Oman Open in March, he now sits at 1247th. He looked the real deal when he first came on tour.

Gutter for Johnston that in the 66 he hit today, he dropped 4 shots so could have been at least a couple better. In truth though yesterday's 76 killed him.

I can't really think of any sport where this sort of slump is so common. In other news, Bob MacIntyre is up to 69th in the world rankings.

Plenty of players who have suddenly slumped and some who have come back. The guy Todd who has won the last 2 PGA events was relatively recently in an absolute mess with by all accounts no real idea where the ball would go. He didn't so much have a "miss" but had all the misses. Now he leads the FedEx rankings has a 2 year exemption on the PGA Tour and is in the Masters and the PGA in 2020. As someone once said I love golf and just occasionally golf loves me. A fickle lover though as you suggest.
peasy23
MacIntyre and Kitayama are paired together for the opening rounds of the DP World Tour Championship this weekend. It's pretty much a straight fight between those two now for rookie of the year. The BBC will have no live coverage at all of the Masters next year, it will be highlights only. They have lost the live coverage at the weekend that they have has since losing the sole UK rights in 2011.

Bad day at the Q school today and unless someone goes really low it looks like none of the Scottish players will make the top 25. Ewen Ferguson was in a great position midway through his round but let 6 shots go.

The Scots are as follows -8 Daniel Young -6 Ewen Ferguson -5 Craig Howie -4 Euan Walker and Marc Warren

As things stand Daniel Young only one shot below tied 25th spot so certainly still in the mix but as you say will need a more than decent round. The others need something pretty special you would think.

I suspect the bogey he had on 17 is going to cost him. Howie is currently 5 under for his round through 14 holes. Sitting T32. Another couple of birdies needed I would think
