The Moonster
I really cannot stand Garcia any more. He's come out and said that being rushed made him bogey a couple of holes which cost him qualification. He's an absolute child. Delighted he missed out. Happy for Rosey.

VictorOnopko
This will be a deeply unpopular opinion I know, but I can't help still wanting Sergio to do well. He pre-qualified (well, lost a playoff then got in as an alternate) for the US Open this year, played really well at Pinehurst, and finished 12th. We've known for years that he's often a grumpy, petulant, childish tool. Some of the stuff he has done has been indefensible... ... but his historic bad behaviour didn't stop me from cheering him on when he won the Masters, or for every single one of the Ryder Cup points he's taken off the Yanks, as the all time top European, and I'm very 'meh' on LIV and all that drama. To me, he's still just one of the best European golfers ever, and has been very unlucky not to have won multiple majors. I'd like to see him contend once more and I'd certainly rather see him in the Open than not. *ducks*
peasy23
Been some quite bizarre stuff going on with the Olympic golf with several countries saying they won't send their golfers even though they qualified in the top 60 of the Olympic rankings. Joost Luiten took the Dutch Olympic committee to court yesterday (and won) after they had imposed additional criteria. Others have been told that they aren't going as they don't have a realistic chance of winning a medal, despite the men's silver and bronze at the last games being won by players ranked 161st (Sabatini) and 181st (CT Pan). Pan came through a 7 man playoff to win the bronze which included McIlroy and Morikawa. Edited July 3 by peasy23

Caledonian1
Ewan Ferguson joint leader in Munich (such a shame this event was not three weeks earlier) He did have a four shot lead but only managed -1 today whilst tomorrows playing partner went -6. Huge day tomorrow as a win (or possibly 2nd, 3rd..... not entirely sure how many slots available) would get him into the Open and well up Race to Dubai rankings and in a great position to kick on and get one of the PGA cards. Connor Syme perhaps too far back but a good round could see him challenge for an Open place. Incidentally, played the king Trophy at Nairn today off black tees.....what a sensational course in supreme condition. Did'n't realise until today that Nairn member Sandy Scott already has a place in the Open - joining three other Scots, Bob Mcintyre Grant Forrest and Jack McDonald (havent checked but think thats them all.....hope they are joined by others after the BMW)

On that basis only a win will get Ferguson or Syme into the top 20 and thus in with a chance of an Open slot. Being tied first at end of round 3 projects Ferguson to 21st in rankings so presumably he needs a win. There are 3 Open spots available at next week’s Scottish Open Edited July 6 by Distant Doonhamer
The Golden God
Leader at a terrible 21 under in the John Deere after 3 rounds. Shocking standard these days eh. Anyone who gets the guy in last place score without googling deserves a prize.
